Hey, don't shoot the messenger; he's not under a 'deny' NDA....

Anyone who's allowed to speak know anything (other than the date...)? And has anyone sent the paramedics to administer CPR to Chuckula?

Re: Video card with 6x or 8x mini-HDMI ports?

Can't DP be adapted to HDMI relatively cheaply and easily? Yes, it can, and that's our default solution right now. It just seems silly that AMD and Nvidea make cards that are mostly used with HDMI displays with only DP ports... Ironically, BTW, miniDP-to-HDMI adaptor cables are actually less expens...

Video card with 6x or 8x mini-HDMI ports?

Both AMD and Nvidea make cards that support 6 or 8 displays... via DisplayPort. But, of course, those cards are mostly used in digital signage applications where the displays typically don't have DisplayPort inputs, but do have multiple HDMI inputs. So, 2 questions: 1.) Why?? For the love of God, ma...

Our company has orders from clients for ruggedized laptops totalling over $350,000 and I CAN'T GET A BLOODY SALES REP FROM EITHER PANASONIC OR DELL TO RETURN MY FRIKKIN' PHONE CALLS!!! Re: Ultra-light x86 Win7 tablet??

Thanks for the suggestions! I should have mentioned that I'm aware of the ToughBook/ToughPad models, and they are a prime contender, but the price makes us require an alternative for smaller clients. I don't have a 'hard' cut-off, but I'd like to find something that's about 2 lbs or less. Battery li...

Ultra-light x86 Win7 tablet??

Can anyone suggest a very light-weight x86 tablet that comes with Windows 7 and can be equipped with at least 4 and preferably 8 GBytes of RAM? Aside from the HP Slate, that is, which we're aware of (and have used, but we'd like to find something lighter). It's for a Public Safety application, so ru...

Re: Any reason I shouldn't buy a Dell XPS 14?

And plugs into what? Those systems only have HDMI, which isn't going to drive my ZR30W.

I actually went to the Lenovo site to price a system, and kept getting frustrated by missing information and dead links. After about 30 min, I gave up.

I'll order the XPS 14 tomorrow.

Any reason I shouldn't buy a Dell XPS 14?

Aside from the general fact that it's Dell, of course :-) I need (well, 'want') a new laptop, and the criteria (more-or-less in order of importance/priority) are: - 'reasonably' small-and-light - I've decided on a 14" screen as the maximum size so that it will easily fit into my motorcycle sadd...

Re: The most amazing movie scene in film history

For sheer impact/sec, I'd nominate the assasination scene from the original "Day of the Jackal" - where he pulls the trigger, we hear the gun fire, and de Gaulle leans forward to kiss the soldier's cheeks, and we see the bullet stike the pavement where is head was. I remember the entire au...

I'll need to find one that can drive my 1920x1200 display in portrait mode. On the other hand, this little device would be an excellent way to implement mul...
