Re: Budget Gaming Build

What about stepping up to a e7400 would that improve things? I like the e5200 cause of its high multiplier gives a wider range to work with, with finding the highest fsb.

Re: e7200 build for moderate OC. How's this build?

If your considering overclocking, have you considered an after market cpu cooler rather then a standard Intel one. With an after market cool you should hit somewhere between 3.4-3.6 without over volting the cpu. You could push to 3.8-4 if you over volt your cpu as well, just something you might want...

Hard Drive

I'm looking for the fastest hard drive set up which offers good value for money for a gaming system (I don't want to use SSD as it is two expensive and it would be going on to an intel chipset and hear their are performance issues using Intel chipset with SSD). The drives would only be used to load ...

If you press right click Customize... and move the DX9 opition to the top the game will always launch in DX9 mode when you double click, that way you only have too use right click once.

Re: Advice on Workstation for Photoshop CS3

I also do lots of photo and graphics work and would seriously recommend 8 gigs of ram, might seam like overkill but when your working on a hi def file with loads of layers and effects the 8 gigs of ram really kick in and stop your performance dropping.

I would recommend getting a quad, even seriouslly over clocked dual core systems that I have used seem slower then the tiny overclock I have on my quad, when I'm running my virtual machines on my quad I forget that their virtural machines, its deffently worth the money. A 4870 would be overkill at y...

Everything else is cool, but deffently get a new cooler for your cpu, also look at the samsung 750gig drive, mines very good.

In every test it beats a 8800GTX, and if you want it up their battling the likes of the new 280 you should stick it in cross fire and watch them fly.

Just cause I had a locked down Dell mobo, I didn't want this to stop me from being able to get my Q6600 up to 3ghz. After doing some digging on the internet I found the tape mod for the Q6600. Basically you cover one of the pins on chip with electical tape, and then hey presto, your running at 333mh...
