Re: Question about Windows 10 and keys.

Just like in 8 you can do a "reset" from within the OS, or just an in place upgrade repair from an ISO (don't even need to burn it, just mount and run). You will very rarely need to reload from media. Barring a complete HDD failure. Here's a good example that happened to me in 8.1: Someth...

Re: A Few Reasons why Haswell Disapoints

Score! I made my order today and I'll be building it later this week into the weekend. In my case, two of the 512GB Samsung 840 Pros are the biggest single cost in the whole system. Yep, the SSD and Raid-1 arrays took up a large portion of the price. Overall I'm pretty happy with Haswell and Intel ...

Re: A Few Reasons why Haswell Disapoints

I honestly couldn't be any happier with Haswell. I spent about $1,800 today on a new computer and the IGPU is doing one heck of a job, especially at 2560x1400 resolutions. I can play most games (not at ultra crazy settings mind you), but they are playable. http://i41.tinypic.com/auz4np.jpg

Re: Longevity of SSDs?

I think the assumption here is that SSDs are something special, and they're really not. Regardless of how good they are now, the industry will continue to innovate and in 10 years our current SSDs will be clunky and either thrown away or stored in a box somewhere, never to be used. Hell, in 10 year...

Re: Wii U - Fail?

Remember, the system is not out yet nor are there any official announcements from Nintendo. Remember all the iPhone 4S rumors? I was almost convinced it would be a tear shaped designed, a curved glass, a bigger home button, and lots of other features. Just wait and see what the actual specs are. You...

Re: Intel "Haswell" Speculation thread

I doubt it. It'll save people money if they don't, and most devices won't suffer for it even still. It would be nice since they're backward-compatible, but it's not necessary. Mouse, keyboard, webcam, headset...pretty much anything that doesn't need more power or bandwidth doesn't need USB 3. Super...

I have the G9X as well. Managed to snag it for $50 during the holidays. My G7 wireless gave out on me and I needed a replacement. So far no complaints!

Re: New mechanical keyboard - Need advice!

Alright so the keyboard came in today. It is a bit clicky, something i'd have to get use too. It feels a lot more accurate and I never miss a key like I did with membrane keyboards. My only complaint is the lack of multimedia keys. Does anyone know how to map the application key to act as a Fn key? ...

Gahhh, I'm in the same predicament that the OP is in. Only I'm not so sure I'm sold on the Das, although it does seem to come recommended. I'm looking to spend around 100 even. I got my das for $103.20 shipped. They offer a 20% discount if you can find one of your old college ID pictures. As far as...

I'm just hoping that my Unicomp Customizer (UK) in black lasts as well as the originals... I love it but my other half hates it, especially when she goes to bed early! Which is why some of us bought a skin. The skin should muffle the sound a bit, but tactile feel would be killed as a result. Good t...

Assuming I'm not climbing any hills, I can get 33 mpg Highway out of my WRX. That's a good deal higher than the EPA rating. On the downside, the EPA ratings for City aren't all that accurate for the kinds of cities I find myself in, and not in a good way. In stop and go traffic that lasts for miles...

Thanks for all the help guys, this chair is great incredible. I can lean back all the way as if it were a lazyboy recliner (very comfortable!!). Sitting upright provides enough lumbar support for my back not to cause any pains. Well worth the the $170.
