Re: Anybody familiar with CompuLab fanless systems?

There is still air flowing through the pipes and heatsink to cool the system. Eventually that will still collect dust depending on how dusty your house/environment is. With no forced air flow, I suspect that even a low density of dust will significantly impact cooling performance.

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

Turns out that the bad part was the new ignition coil I bought from ebay. when the coil is heated, the circuit is open, and even when cooled the resistance is waaay off. For carparts, I'm 0/2 for ebay. Unfortunately the market for cheap eBay carparts is flooded with new Chinese junk and old pulls t...

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

Yeah the accord was the daily driver, and if this revives it, then it'll become the daily driver again. We also have a 2006 corolla with only about 80k miles on it so i've been driving that one. At the moment the honda has 298k miles on it. Installed a new ignition control module (ordered from a mor...

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

Yeah I'm about to give up on it. I've already started looking for a new car. Just can't decide between a sedan, hatchback, or compact SUV. I want something small with great gas milage but decent cargo space. Honda Fit hatchback is looking pretty nice option so far. I have the day off so I'm messing ...

Re: Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Seems like this anniversary update is a bit borked.
Works fine on my laptop but broke my tablet. Had hell of a time trying to get it into safe mode to revert to previous version.

Gonna hold off before updating my desktops.

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

Seems like it has developed a new problem after replacing with new spark plugs, wires, and coil. The Main relay switch works fine but now the car stalls when hot, had to push it back to the house a few blocks when it stalled during a test drive :o . Engine was running great and then all of a sudden,...

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

Yeah the main relay switch died on this honda before. I took it apart and resoldered the cracked solder joint. I'm guessing that this time some other solder joints have now cracked, once I get home and take apart the relay switch, I'll be able to tell.

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

Quick update on this: The car developed a new problem where it felt like it was misfiring a lot no matter what the RPM. Turns out the spark plug wires are bad even though they are only a few years old. They were Bosch MAG wires which were pretty expensive so I expected them to last longer than just ...

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

Interesting! My 1992 Accord developed very similar symptoms three days ago. I discovered this thread just now. Symptoms: Idle and very light throttle are fine. I can cruise around town on ~40 MPH roads and ~1500 RPM just fine so long as I don't exceed a critical throttle application. Any significan...

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

Here is an update: Ordered and replaced the O2 sensor and it seemed to have resolved the issue. I think it was the stock sensor that was originally installed on the vehicle as I had to get a 22 mm impact socket to get it free after multiple rounds of PB blaster to get it loose.... yeah like notfred ...

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

Could be old spark plugs, when was the last time you changed those? Maybe fuel filter, check that. Some heavy duty fuel system cleaning additive might be worth a shot. Could be EGR. Could also be you ICM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hM7wfyikVEg Spark plugs and fuel filter was changed only a few...

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

The car is 26 years old - have you ever replaced the spark plug leads? I had a Lexus SC400 that started running rough at 90k miles, so I went through the ignition from cheap-->expensive. Rotor and cap first, then plugs, then ingition/coil lead. Finally hit bingo on the leads. It was stumbling and c...

It can be the O2 sensor.
They are cheap so I might as well replace it since as far as I know, it has never been replaced.
At higher RPM, the engine has great power, so the fuel pressure is likely okay?

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

So since it does run fine cold, I think ignition issues, fuel delivery issues can probably be assumed to be okay. Wrong. Another thing it could be is the ignition module. The ignition module+coil was replaced about 13 years ago. The replacement coil was replaced again a few years ago because it wen...

Re: Roughish running engine once warmed up

As far as I can tell, there are no codes to even read. The check engine light has never lit up. I could just go ahead and check for error codes though and see if there is anything stored in memory. So it seems like the problem is something other than the possible errors listed on the error codes for...

Roughish running engine once warmed up

I got a weird car problem (1990 Honda Accord) that started suddenly a few weeks ago where the car runs completely fine when the engine is cold, but as soon as the engine warms up, it hesitates/jerks during acceleration, and has rough idling. Also the car has reduce gas mileage as well. Once the car ...

Fixed a A/C unit by replacing a bad capacitor and fan motor on the compressor outside. Only cost 50$ with S&H included... This was back when summer was about to start and there was a 2 week backlog for a regular AC repair man appointment or a 24 hour express repair for a insane price.

With only three combination of a dot, line, or a circle it feels not so secure. There has been a few updates to windows 8.1 in the past few months that has broken certain things for me. How to tell if the thermal interface failed?

So I have a Radeon 6870 from XFX that failed spontaneously, with vertical bars showing and the screen went black. Well that laptop is a bit of a monster laptop.

The inline volume control thing works very well. Just put the volume from the computer to max, and then adjust the volume from the inline control. This eliminates the hissing completely. Thanks for the tip

I've been trading bitcoins for years now and i never heard of flexcoin. Why anyone would store bitcoins in a shady place like that is beyond me, when there are so many better alternatives. Some of those ETY ones are 300 Ohm impedence... wow.

I need/want it for my ASUS 750G laptop that contains a amplifier designed for high impedance headsets and speakers. The standard 16 Ohm ear buds that I have has a lot of hissing sound that is noticeable.

Other Cyrix processors ...
