1) i7 is a waste for laptops IMO 2) What games? As long as they're not overly taxing, you can play a decent amount of games on Intel HD4000 IGP. See here for GPU comparisons . Not to mention Haswell GT3 coming this fall is benchmarked to perform like a GT440. (can't find the link) He appreciates be...

Re: Laptop Recommendation

Lenovo Thinkpads are great. You're probably looking at a T530 or W530, though they'll have workstation graphics cards (Quadro blah blah blah), not the consumer GTxxx. I really, really like mine. After 2 years, it's solid, dependable, and incredibly durable. RAM and HDD upgrades were a piece of cake...

Laptop Recommendation

Hey TR, Looking for a laptop recommendation for my brother. It will be used for school (Including graphic design and rendering), gaming, and general porn watching. What I'm thinking: -Core i7 -GT 650M (min)(Or AMD equivalent) -Upgradable (HDD/RAM) -Reasonable portability and battery life -Solid chas...

Re: Space News

Number 1 is that NASA is now saying Voyager 1 has passed the heliopause (as currently understood). They're not willing to say it's in true interstellar space, but it's far enough out that the Sun has no direct influence... This would make Voyager 1 the first man-made artifact to depart the solar sy...

Sorry Damo...there's no way in hell I'm reading a joke that long. I think the joke is on you if you read all the way through it. Nope, the loss is yours if you didn't read it all the way through. I found it to be an engaging and enjoyable tale. It slowly suspended disbelief and had me completely by...

This was an awesome project SSK, rarely does one get an opportunity to make a difference whilst perusing the net'. Thank you for the chance.

And hey, if you're ever up to the city, PM me, I'd love to take you for an ale!

Man, nice pics- The difference between living conditions still astonishes me.

Also, anyone in a position (e.g. without looking like an ad bot) to pimp this on other forums? Something tells me #1 has a large fan base, so we need a bigger one!

Also, for the record, your cause is far more just than some of the ones ahead of you- Travelling to see a Formula One race somewhere in the world verses providing water to an entire village?

Oh well, JUST KEEP VOTING GERBILS :)

Not only will you be in danger, you endanger the 1st responder's that come to save your butt. Oh noes! Those poor, poor responders, who live off my own earned money! Those fragile creatures who barely know what they're doing and who use sticks and stones as a tools should definitely be treated with...

John C, I just hope you don't have to call 911. Not only will you be in danger, you endanger the 1st responder's that come to save your butt. Preventably diverting emergency responders is not cool- no matter how much you want to ride out the storm. Your well-being is one thing, but you're putting o...

Re: I work out + Zombie 5K

While I agree with paulWTAMU, and actively train with resistance myself, (3x resistance, 3-4x running per week is my breakdown), there is something to be said for body weights. Pushups (wide and narrow), chin-ups, leg raises, tricep dips, lunges, sit-ups and plank holds are just a few of the things ...

Re: I work out + Zombie 5K

I workout 6-7 times a week. I've been doing some form of routine since I was 10, so it doesn't really feel like work anymore. That said, school makes it tough in the winter. I do mid-distance running and Biathlon in the winter. I ran a local 10km a few months ago in 40:17, aka 17sec short of my goal...

Re: Email Harassment

Yeah, your best bet is to look at the full headers of the e-mails. If they were sent from a webmail account you won't be able to tell much, but if they came from an e-mail client running on a local PC you should be able to get an IP address. If you suspect it is someone you've corresponded with in ...

Re: Email Harassment

I don't think you'll find a piece of general software to do this. You'll need the original emails and look at the headers on them (which can be forged to some degree). You can then trace back to which ISP they were sent from, then subpoena that ISP for records of who had that IP at that time and th...
