Re: I need a Windows 10 x64 Sound Card

TBH your best bet might be something USB based. Maybe this: https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-70SB173000000-Sound-Blaster/dp/B06XBZ38ZJ/ or even this: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-External-Headphone-Microphone-Desktops/dp/B01N905VOY/ Cheap enough that it doesn't hurt to try. Nice little device....

FLASH FLOOD WATCH! WIND ADVISORY! I guess they're worried about the burn area to the north of here allowing for more of the rain water to runoff and collect than usual, but I can't help but think that a little rain and a little wind for a few days isn't really a thing. Valve is on their way to becoming the next Capcom. Fighting games were never really my thing, but yes.....the ridiculous naming and 19 different versions of Street Fighter II absolutely kept me away from the series. I came in late, and couldn't even begin to tell you what the hell was going on. If ...

Whenever they get through at work, I like to give them a little bit of hope for reaching their target person, and then put them on hold indefinitely. No cursing or messing around, just waste their time like they waste mine. On my personal phone I do alot of number blocking. If it’s a spoofed number ...

Children Of Bodom - Skeletons In The Closet (2009) An album of covers. This may be the most eclectic collection of songs to get covered by a metal artist short of a Leo Moracchioli playlist, with choices ranging from the fairly predictable (Scorpions, Iron Maiden) to the bizarre (Kenny Rogers, Brit...

I also have a mild-to-moderate problem with that same pink bacteria. It seems to like the showerhead quite a bit, which isn't good, because a bit of reading says that it can opportunistically infect nearly anywhere in humans, from the eyes, random cuts, to as far as meningitis. Spraying it directly ...

Looks like they bumped the 2700X to $160 -- must have been selling really well. I ended up grabbing one of the last regular 2700's at my store (now sold out). It's the same chip as the X, just slightly lower clocks and much lower power consumption. I'll be testing some Crucial ECC on this board toni...

I'm still running an RT-N66U, but my wireless needs are pretty meager (not more than about a 20' radius). I have 2.4ghz turned off completely, and 5ghz at the lowest power setting.

Bit of an update for whoever's still around: After putting down roughly 150 posts on TechPowerUp, I'm almost totally soured on the site (or the forums at least). Granted this is all on the assumption that the owners have a master plan/vision for the site that they are working toward (which I'm skeptical of)... They don't, and never did. I'm sticking with my original assumption, which is that they did little to no research, and bought because they felt they ...

Yeah. It's not horrendously out of place for what we do (did), but randomly a bit too far into the pro audio realm. Given the memory-compatibility improvements between Zen and Zen+, I'd go with the Zen+ chip. The 2700x also comes with the superior Wrath cooler for what its worth. Interesting. On that note, I'm going to be rolling the dice with some ECC memory which isn't on the QVL, and on a motherboard which do...

Some crazy Ryzen CPU deals at Microcenter:

$80 - AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (6/12 @ 3.2Ghz)

$130 - AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (8/16 @ 3.7Ghz) (Includes Borderlands 3 and The Outer Worlds)

Both also include the $30 combo discount on a motherboard.

Android Auto and Carplay support are determined by the stereo/head unit. Some have support for only one or the other, some support both.

I just had a dumb thought: Have GPU makers ever considered including the ability to power their cards off an external brick powersupply? Re: Could Google's Quantum Supremacy signal the end of encryption?

Isn't all of this predicated on a near-infinite number of password attempts being allowed, and zero delay between attempts? Seems this could be easily mitigated by either setting data to be automatically destroyed after X number of failed attempts, or by adding an ever-increasing cooldown period. Ha...

Interesting you bring this up. We have a need for non-rechargeable 14500 batteries at work, as some devices in the field use them for monitoring sensors. I had previously been ordering 10-packs of the SAFT brand on Amazon, but as you've also noticed, they're becoming difficult to find at any decent ...
