Re: Samsung 245T

I'm in the same situation. I'm ready to buy an LCD but have put it on hold to do research. I did post here my choices and what I was recommended was the BenQ FP241W. Originally I was looking at the Samsung 2493HM, the Dell 2408 and BenQ G2400. Like you I read that the input lag on the Dell monitor i...

Re: Which LCD?

It sounds like I'll be ordering the Benq FP241W. Quick question on this monitor computron9000. I will be having a PS3 connected through my HDMI for gaming and Blue Ray movies. How does the movies look, does it have 1:1 scaling? Meaning does it stretch the image when viewing a movie on the PS3 throug...

Re: eVGA 8800 GTS 512MB - DVI to HDMI or DVI to DVI

Have a question for you funkybudda, concerning the Dell 2408 monitor. How are you liking it as far as pc gaming, and hooking it up to your PS3. I'm planning on buying one but I'm not decided yet. Would you recommend it for day to day web browsing, school work, regular gaming, watching blue ray movie...

Re: Which LCD?

No, I don't have a problem with the BenQ FP241W but isn't that model discontinued and hard to find. It doesn't come up in newegg or tigerdirect. From which site did you order it?

Re: Dell 2408WFP

Well well folks. My Dell 2408WFP arrived today. I won't be able to play with it until I get home later tonight from a Color Guard I gotta do for a Golden Gloves match, but I'll post pictures when I do play with it. Any particular settings folks want me to test out? Anything on this review yet? Or a...

Which LCD?

I have researched this for weeks already and have come up with so many conflicting ideas that I don't know which to choose. I want a 24" lcd monitor, which I plan to play pc games, plus hook up a PS3 for Blue ray movies and also the games. From my research I'm down to these 3 monitors. Dell 240...

Re: My first journey into making my very own computer!

Your setup will be almost identical to mine. I also posted my setup on another thread, which I plan on building once I get home in about a month or so.

Re: Antec 900 case

I was looking through Newegg's site to order the Antec 900 case but found out they no longer have it. Noticed that they have new arrivals, one of them being the Antec 300. Which looks a lot like the 900 but without a side panel, but I want to use the 900 on my build. Anyone know what other sites off...

Re: My first journey into making my very own computer!

Oh, another thing, I just looked at the link you gave on the hard drive and that is an IDE hard drive. Choose the SATA version of that drive, its actually cheaper and will be much faster. Your motherboard has 4 SATA ports, also make sure that your DVD/CD-ROM drive is also SATA for better speeds. Als...

Re: My first journey into making my very own computer!

If you look at the newegg link for the memory on the specifications tab you'll see that it lists all kinds of things. One of them is the speed which is DDR2 800. I chose that CPU cooler on the review I read here, so I haven't actually installed it yet but from what I read if you are carefull you sho...

Re: My first journey into making my very own computer!

SDRAM stands for synchronous dynamic random access memory. Basically is the type of the RAM, and mostly all RAM today will be this type. Check out InTeGeR13 link on the RAM, same one I was talking about. On the cooler I like the Zalman 9500A 92mm, I beleive there is a review of that cooler in this s...

Re: My first journey into making my very own computer!

Wow, we almost have the same build. I went with the same processor, motherboard and video card. The gigabyte motherboard should be compatible with the CPU. If you look at newegg on the specifications tab there is a section where it tells you what socket it is. So if you look at both the CPU and moth...

Re: First Time Build Opinions

I read a lot of good things about the Zalman cooler, but I'll check out the one you pointed out david00214. The HX-520 and the 620 both had excellent reviews, them being modular just makes it sweeter. On the audio I'm going to be trying out the onboard chip and see how that goes. But I was looking o...

Re: First Time Build Opinions

Two points that I had some back and forth on was exactly on the memory and PSU. I thought the 520HX was more than enough also, just needed some backup on that. As far as memory I will reconsider and since I can get 2x2GB modules for cheap I'm going with that, just so when I do end up getting Vista I...

First Time Build Opinions

I've been going through this site and the system build links and found it very useful. I have also been reading the forums for a while trying to come up with my own build. I'm about to build a system based on recommendations I have read here. So far I have the following. Processor: E8440 Motherboard...
