Re: T6600 vs. I3-330

Yea, the model he picked out doesn't have the extended battery and it's rated at 2 hours 50 mins. I can't remember but is your laptop the studio 15 with an extended battery? If it is you should show a picture on how it looks with the extended battery. It looks about like this . It just sticks out a...

T6600 vs. I3-330

I'm getting a new laptop in the next week or so, I'm just wondering if it's worth it to get the I3, or I5s. And how much faster is the new arrandales gonna be vs the Core 2, at similar clock speeds. Oh and for some reason, futureshop already has a core I3 laptop listed... http://www.futureshop.ca/ca...

okay sry, maybe don't put it on an angle, go for as horizontal or vertical as possible, or else your little plates and a tiny magnetic head might get angry at you.

Re: Hard drive - horizonal or vertical orientation ?

Nope, it doesn't matter, heck you can put it on a 45 degree angle, AS long as the drive doesn't move around, if the drive move around while its on, you might get a head crash or soemthing similar, but other wise any position is fine.

I would say grab the thermalright one, I have true120 on 3 computers, 1 of them is I7 965, and using noctua fans its dead quite, well u can't hear it over the graphics card and hdds. but if ur set with noctua or xigmatech, I would definately go with Xigmatech, the direct contact pipes definately help.

Re: Do I need a network switch, or a router?

yes you can use the second router, just set the first router as a gateway i think and tell the second router to connect to the first one, there's only like 3 settings for this on the router, so if one doesn't work try the other, (only (3x3)=9 settings to go through?)

Re: Gaming on 10000 RPM vs. 7200 RPM

There is practically no difference between modern 7200RPM HDDs and SAS/SATA 10K RPM HDDs with single-user loads. 10K RPM drives do offer faster seek time. However that advantage is only apparent with multi-user related loads. SSDs are much faster at such roles. HIgher GB/$$$$ ratio is only thing th...
