There is a good reason for why things are on hold, but they'll be moving early next week again. Depending on how things go I may even write more frequently, SO YOU CAN START GETTING EXCITED!

fringe users will come, and some of us weirdos stick around and eventually become (somewhat) useful members (depending who you ask). Site does look different, but it'll improve. I wish the rollout had gone better as there is actually a lot to continue to be positive about with this site.

I don't remember ever agreeing with him. I said that there could potentially be improvements for many by having a public system. I also said I didn't want a private transport. What's got you confused?

Re: To Lease or too buy an EV

Why ditch? Possibly because it COULD be better? Lots of ifs there and I don't personally want transport to be privatized.

I've tried to ignore it, but "a lot" is two words.

Re: To Lease or too buy an EV

In general traffic here in calgary is quite good. The problem is just that buses have times and need route changes. Eg. My wife's commute takes 12 by car, 35 by bike, or 45 minutes by transit. The additional time is just waiting for the next bus/train to get you. I'd LIKE to take transit, but she do...

I don't ride the bus because it takes wayyyyyy longer not because of crime. I don't think anyone actually wants to pay the costs of making it feasible.

Re: To Lease or too buy an EV

I'm not miscontruing anything. You literally said only capacity matters.
Why wait? The many reasons listed here?
In my case it's simply a matter of loan limits

As for your claims of flag waving, that's nonsense. Nobody in Norway cares about American buying habits.

Re: To Lease or too buy an EV

The model 3 is heavier, transports more people and gets better range. It also charges faster, IIRC and costs less. So.... Capacity isn't all the matters. That's a nonsense thing to say particularly when so many other points have been raised from cost, charging time, frequency of charge stations etc....

Re: To Lease or too buy an EV

No, just the demand that in 10 years they'd be banned...? For general sale of new ice engines for most consumers, sure. That's not to say there aren't specific use cases that'll still benefit and millions still on the road, but by 2030 we should have decent enough tech I don't think ev requirements...

Re: To Lease or too buy an EV

The problem with fuel cell tech is that it just sucks and compared to batteries it's incredibly inefficient. I'd also like to see some super capacitor instant charging but it's not there yet. I also think swappable batteries is likely the medium term future as well. In the meantime, I'll just slow d...

Re: To Lease or too buy an EV

Too bad VW killed diesel, as it would make perfect sense for my driving pattern. They killed it because it was a completely toxic mess... As for curb parking, I live in Canada where we all run electricity to the curb so that our block heaters work in the winter. It's just how we operate. Obviously ...

Re: To Lease or too buy an EV

Someone's been drinking Musky Kool-Aid. The ICE isn't going anywhere for a long time yet, and the environmental costs of battery manufacturing are not trivial; we just don't see a lot of it reflected in current pricing because China is still willing to bear the externalities in exchange for economi...

Re: To Lease or too buy an EV

I do drive far. I've driven roughly 10,000km in the last year between 3 trips. I'd still prefer an Ev. Charging stations are more available than most people think. Yeah, costs are high, but electricity is a HELL of a lot cheaper than gasoline. Fair enough about 17k vs 50k. That's a more reasonable s...

Re: To Lease or too buy an EV

Couple things: A kona and a soul Ev are not the same. The soul Ev only gets like 200km per charge. Why it's on the market with that same old system for almost the same price as the kona is beyond me, especially since the new soul is based on the kona platform. Buying probably makes sense, and they'r...

Four studios? I'm down to two: Larian and cd projekt. Nobody else makes an RPG that's nearly as good as these two companies, including Bethesda or bioware imo

This one is apparently larger than dos2 and dos2 was huge. I hope the keep the humour and charm that their own worlds have.
