been using purevpn for years and it's fast and has servers basically everywhere. Would you know what their speeds and connections are like around the Pacific? I’m particularly interested in purevpn access in Tokyo/Osaka, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Manila, as I move around between these and West coast c...

I don't know about phones, but my laptop has it and it sucks. Also one of the first things I turned off. I think that would depend on the laptop. It is more secure than faceid. I have an intel real sense camera on my desktop and it's excellent. What model do you have? The iris scanner on phon...

let's not pretend that because they released a white paper saying "it's completely insecure" that suddenly it's secure. just because they agree it's terrible doesn't mean it's not terrible.

Gestures hey bb10! Face unlock hey lumias! Edge to edge displays hey Chinese phones! Nothing here is revolutionary. Phone looks decent. Nothing it does is new though, and you'd literally have to pretend it was. Most interesting iphone in a while, but between the green lines, issues in the cold, face...

It seems like the answer to this question is no, but are there any fitness trackers with Bluetooth and music playback? Or are there any compact smart watches that fit the bill?

Thanks!

Licensing requirements for xbox require support on xbone and xbox x. They've stated that for the foreseeable future all games on "xbox" platform must work on "xbox's." as for the << we're using, the xbox x is literally 50% faster than the ps4 pro. To be clear regarding "fanb...

Re: Xbox One X

If it were as easy as upping the render resolution on X1X and rebuilding, who wouldn't do it? numerous developers have said it's taken less than two days to get their xbone game running at 4k, and some have said as little as 4 hours. there is a reason that so many xbone developers are doing xbone x...

Wut "And especially on Xbox One X, two hours after we got the dev kit it was running at 4K, 60 FPS. That thing is very powerful. It was that easy. I think we were expecting it to take a little longer than that, but no, it was a cinch." https://www.windowscentral.com/what-devs-say-about-xbo...

Re: The Nintendo Switch is pretty great

Nothing nostalgic about my impressions. I played the original Zelda, but never beat it, tried the second Zelda a few times, I may have beaten A Link to the Past... maybe, tried Ocarina of time and Majoras, but never beat them, and haven't even tried the rest. So I'm coming to this with some backgro...

"Not everything is for all people", but anyone who likes Breath of the Wild is a thirty-something nerd with a pathetic nostalgia obsession. That's really weird, because my 13 year old son who has never played another Zelda game has been playing it constantly for weeks. What a passive-aggr...

Re: The Nintendo Switch is pretty great

How is the hardware so many years behind? It's using a new-ish Nvidia mobile processor. No one else has done what Nintendo's done with this console. And, overall, raw graphics power doesn't mean as much to Nintendo as it does to Sony and MS. So why does the power of the console matter? As a portabl...

Re: The Nintendo Switch is pretty great

I thought BOTW, which i beat, was a classic nostalgia pitch held back by underpowered hardware giving you a basically empty world made much larger than it should have been for no other reason than to have a "large world." It's not as good as the witcher 3 in any metric, but is ranked much ...

have you done a reset of the phone through the about/reset setting? If that doesn't fix it, download the windows device recovery tool and reinstall windows. Weird that you're having that bug though. Not one I've seen.

Re: Ringtones on a Windows 10 phone

you can add as many email accounts as you want. that's not an issue with windows phone. Contacts are saved in your outlook or gmail account, unless you didn't setup the phone with any accounts, they'll all sync to the cloud, and you shouldn't lose any. I've reset my windows phones literally 25 times...

UWP apps are PPI aware and adjusts based on the resolution of the device. I don't know what you mean by widget. A weather app is a widget. This is a user mode.

You're worried about issues already address in UWP applications. "mobile" applications like word, excel, etc. are  identical  to their desktop counterparts when docked on a high dpi screen, and it automatically adjusts, as all native UWP apps do. Continuum isn't a "widget." for w...

I have a 1060. it sucks. the drivers are trash. it crashes constantly and every couple of days NVidia is rolling out a new driver hotfix. My amd rig hasn't had any issues. I'd avoid the 1k series for a while, ESPECIALLY if you're a civ vi player. Nvidia has a ton of issues with that game, and it STI...

Re: MS MAKES FULL WIN32 SUPPORT ON ARM/MOBILE

I think x64 is likely to follow, but it's quite complicated i'm sure, and those memory registers. AMD makes arm chips so they'd have more of a business desire to lessen the hold on x86. possibly.
