Re: Win10 still capable of activating on Win7 keys, apparently...

Just on the original subject, it isn't possible for them to stop this process of using old keys. Think about it. Grab an original Windows 10 iso. Say you're offline. Put in a Windows 7 key. It'll accept it. There is no way for them to remove this. They'd have to then say "sorry the installer li...

Re: Windows 10 on ARM Check-In: a smouldering dumpster fire

X64 isn't an omission, it's not done yet, and emulating it is HARD. as for Thurrot, he's a goof. He blocked me years ago on Twitter for correcting a factual error he made, when I linked him to a source. I can't say I've missed his ridiculous view points. As for eu and his fanaticism, I think you're ...

Re: Windows 10 on ARM Check-In: a smouldering dumpster fire

Taking windows to more options isn't a bad place. The 845 will be on the slow side. The 865, 875? Plenty fast for most people, and with vastly better battery life. Prices do need to come down, but this is companies trying to make up R&D I think. Your obsession with anti-ms and general whining ab...

Re: Windows 10 on ARM Check-In: a smouldering dumpster fire

So yeah, I wouldn't call it a dumpster fire, but what tangible benefits does it have over the abandoned Surface RT line, but now existing in a much more competitive tablet/portable computer landscape? win32 support and a month on battery standby. God, EU. Don't you have anything better to do then p...

Re: spending only $100 a month on food.

You guys are too far from Quebec. FWIW, I'm drinking Soylent (@ $3.30 per 400 calories) for several meals a day, with an occasional protein shake and some regular meals. My ultimate goal for myself is getting to a cost $10-$12 per day--I don't know if I can cut more than that. I can't justify buying...

So what do you eat when you can't afford meat? I can always afford it, and usually have animal products twice a day. Eggs in the morning meat at dinner. Lunch might be peanut butter. We run a monthly surplus of about $1k on just my wife's income, and I buy in bulk so I dont run out. We do eat a lot...

Re: spending only $100 a month on food.

1/3 of a block tofu - $0.33 ($1.00/block on sale) I USED TO THINK YOU WERE COOL. I usually only buy meat when it's less than $3.50 CAD ( so like $.08USD) per kg. I buy enough for a couple weeks and then buy more on the next sale. Chicken is often around $2.50/kg here, but the lowest I've seen pork ...

Yes. They have a long "Hunger season" where they go days or weeks without food waiting for the harvest. My daughter almost starved to death twice before we adopted her. As the youngest she was just one more than they could keep alive. Data shows there is already more than enough food to fe...

Re: spending only $100 a month on food.

Lots of people "concur it's probably not healthy," but lack any actual research to back it up. It IS fun, and there are no health issues unless you've got a health reason not to. In fact, it's not even unusual in many places in the world. After about 100 hours you do start to have some pro...

I've been doing longer term fasting for months. Lost about 20kgs. Gone as long as a week, but mostly just for fun. Months of 3 days fasting, two days eating. Quite enjoyed it, actually. I prepare quality meals for all of my meals, but I'm a stay at home dad, and that is one of my major "chores....

Cooking is for people who value good quality food. Nowhere around makes a decent fesenjoon or Rogan Josh. Where else can i find perfect prime rib but at my house? African dishes? Lol. Nope. Decent pasta? Me.

I recently picked up a hybrid drive for essentially the same price as a traditional platter drive. While I do use a SSD for my boot drive, if there is essentially no cost difference then a hybrid drive is a no brainer.

She uses a number of office products, including publisher. Google docs is a sad replacement for word. It's the "Windows store" of office software. You also retain ownership of your stuff made with word. You don't with google docs last i checked.

Microsoft should really be focusing its efforts on retaining business and power users, not chasing after a non-customer base that's never going to buy Microsoft under any circumstances. If they aren't careful they're gonna wind up with nobody at all. This is primarily for the education sector, a ma...

I think part of that might be due to the impending collapse of windows revenue. It's what largely pushing the cloud investments too, imo. They're trying to grab as much as they can before windows completely disappears in the face of the android onslaught.
