Re: Building a BEASTLY Home Audio SUB

If you are interested in an infinite baffle design, there is a good community here: http://ibsubwoofers.proboards.com/index.cgi You can also build some amazing subs using servomotors (this is different than servo(accelerometer) feedback.) Although getting the right gear together might be hard. Here ...

Re: Can EMR be blocked, and what does it take?

Faraday cages won't work on static or slowly varying magnetic fields. Slowly varying magnetic fields are technically EM, just with a very small E component.

Re: Hardcore Particle Physics Question

Precision is the measure of how many significant figures you have. Accuracy is a measure of how correct your answer is. Unless the neutrino emissions are periodic, I think this would involve accuracy. If the neutrino emissions are periodic, then the concern with regard to accuracy would be minimal ...

Re: Hardcore Particle Physics Question

Corrent me if I'm wrong - but I was under impression that neutionos are generated in fusion reactions in Sun core and are emited from inside nearly instantaneously with the speed of light (nearly as they are not massless) WITHOUT any serious interference and influence on sun (unlike photons that co...

Re: Hardcore Particle Physics Question

There is actually some evidence to the contrary: http://www.astroengine.com/?p=1382 Although not mentioned in the article, you can see problems in the "Normalized BNL with Earth-Sun Distance" graph; you will see (by simple inspection) that the two sinusoidal functions, representing neutrin...

Re: New transmission type

I am tempted to attempt to model this thing in Pro/Engineer to see how much torque is transmitted when not in full speed (1:1) mode. I am suspicious that it will only supply as much torque as the control motor puts out at that RPM/speed. If that is the case it supplies no mechanical advantage, and i...

Re: GTA IV problem

Also note that none of the commands will work on the pirated version, since that one obviously needs a whole different launcher, ergo this may be the first time ever where pirates suck donkey nuts with a new game, at least if their videocards have 512 or less MiB of RAM. If you want to use the comm...

Spontaneous reboots

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster. I have a system which I added a new harddrive to, a 1TB seagate. Since I have installed the drive the system has become unstable and spontaneously reboots on irregular intervals(about once a day). At first I had a problem with the machine booting for a se...
