Re: Another Win8 Topic

It took me a while to get over the lack of a start button but now that I am over that, I like W8 okay. It has some annoyances like shutting it down takes WAY too many clicks. I find myself always working in desktop mode. I almost never use metro of anything. All that said it does seem faster and lig...

Re: Have a Windows 8 notebook and need a Start Menu

In my server room I built 6 new 2012 servers and I like it just fine but man the lack of start menu can be a pain until you fully relearn where everything is. Classic Shell works on Server 2012. My in-house IT boffins were very happy when I pointed them in that direction as Server 2012 was really h...

Re: Have a Windows 8 notebook and need a Start Menu

What does he need in a start menu? Comfort? I like windows 8 well enough but it was too bold of a change too quickly. Microsoft should have 1/2 stepped to Modern UI in Windows 8 and then once people had the feel for it moved fully to it in Windows 9. The start menu is MUCH faster to get to commonly...

I back most of my data up to Amazon s3 cloud storage. I also have a lot backed up to skydrive.

Pretty sure I am safe should I lose any physical drives.

Re: Thinking about bankruptcy

I wouldn't declare bankruptcy over such a small amount of money. You can dig out of that with a part time job and a little hard work.

You made the debt, you should pay it. Bankruptcy isn't a get out of jail free card. The money you owe doesn't just disappear from the world.

Re: The most amazing movie scene in film history

I found the train crash in Super 8 pretty epic

I am also tossing in a vote for the bank robbery in Heat.

I have a pretty serious home theater going on and both of these scenes were enhanced a lot by it.

Ha, to the OP your observation is correct. A good friend of mine was dating a woman for about 2 years and she wanted kids, marriage, a house and all that stuff with him. Told him he was the only man she could love and that she would always be there for him. He didn't feel the same and broke up with ...

I just don't get bunnies as pets! They are terrors around the house, rarely friendly and just seem to offer very little return - unless you plan to eat them. I had rabbits several times because they are cute but always the same result - gave them away, snake food, skinned and eaten.. I like my cat j...
