Re: tech counsel - stuttering

Alright, I'll try the BF3 editor together with the tools you suggested. Thanks for the tips. Core parking and wired net connection didn't help. First I thought they would because the first lag/stutter only hit me ca 20mins after I joined a match, which is way better than the previously experienced i...

Re: tech counsel - stuttering

thanks guys, I'll try a few things you've suggested as soon as I finish my work (wife and kid are away so here's the big chance  )

I found this for core parking

I'll give it a try.

By the way, my pc is clean as a new one.

Re: tech counsel - stuttering

BF3 is known for stuttering for just about any imaginable reason, including stuff (...) video driver issues, solar flares, moon phases and so on... Thank you JohnC, your comment made my day :D Reading the BF3 and EA forums didn´t help, for the reason you wrote too: their issues got never resolved. ...

Re: tech counsel - stuttering

I reinstalled the whole system, not just the game. It didn't help. I have a 64bit win7, so using all of the memory shouldn't be a problem either. I lowered the video settings in the game, didn't help. This one's particularly interesting, because the game lags on settings that were totally flawless a...

tech counsel - stuttering

Dear TR-forum members, I'd like to ask all of you, who have more or less experience with Battlefield 3, for your advises. I've been playing the game's multiplayer for over a a year without having a hiccup. Then I got somewhat bored of it, after some 50-something hrs of gameplay. I have a full-time j...

Re: USB or PCI?

thanks guys, I really appreciate your advises.
The router isn't too far away from my PC, but a story lower, the reception should be fine. I think I'll stick with the stick, it's easier to handle.
Let's see what do they have at the local store...

USB or PCI?

Hi guys, I just moved to a new place, and unfortunately I have no possibility to rewire the house to my needs, so it looks I need to get a wireless adapter for my desktop. I never had any wifi network adapter, and -hopefully- in 7-8 months or so I'll be able to go wired again, but until then: should...

Re: Overclocking Q6600 Help

thanks!
hm...mine slides easily above 90°C with the stock cooler @2.4GHz (9x266) under prime95.
Intel Burntest got it up to 97°C.
Seems like a lot... I should get a new cooler before doing some serious OC, so I can -hopefully- delay the next major CPU upgrade.
By the way, thanks for the OP too!

Re: Overclocking Q6600 Help

Say, what is the highest temperature that is still...safe for the cpu? That won't toast it.
Intel says 62°C, but is it possible to run it on (for example) 90°C for 2-3 hours or so without any major damage?
Just asking.

Re: HDD lag

I have a 500GB WD Caviar Black (I bought it 2 yrs ago) ,it runs without any hick-ups under win7. Not like my buddy's 1TB hd.
The guys at the store also said that he should install a driver for the HD. I never-ever in my life installed any driver for HDDs...does it make any sense?

HDD lag

Dear Gentlemen! I need some help. One of my friends put together a rig a month ago, installed win7, but he can´t really use the PC because it freezes, or lags so badly he´s unable to do anything (task manager needs 10 mins to pop up). He took it to a shop to have it checked if there´s any hardware c...
