Re: Trouble with used Radeon 290X

You play MWO? nice. Pug or are you part of a group? Regarding your card, doublecheck temps, voltage, try the auto-overclock feature of the catalyst control center and see if that triggers a crash. That could be an indicator that the card is on its way out. If possible, try undervolting it and see if...

Re: Dead HDD, now what? Windows 8 reinstall help

Indeed. The key recovery process from the Bios sounds interesting, kinda want to know how that works. But yes, in the end the only thing you needed was a Win 8 OEM disc. The disc pulls the key from the bios while activating and you don't even need to input the key. It will be only useful if you inst...

Re: Dead HDD, now what? Windows 8 reinstall help

The Win 8 license is stored inside the BIOS, migrating an install is really easy. I bought an Asus G750 JW last year. Bought an SSD and swapped it with the included 1 TB HDD along with a 750 gb scorpio black i had. All i had to do was reinstall windows with an OEM disc. A friend of mine had one of t...

Re: Can I run 8 to 12 Monitors from one Laptop ?

Err im pretty sure that isn't possible. Something about laptops only having 2 possible display outputs at the same time (for example, and HDMI/Dp/VGA port external monitor and the laptop's screen simultaneously) Buuuut things may have changed as of late and i might be wrong. Besides, 8 to 12 monitor...

I concur. For me i has gotten to the point where if i have to youtube something, i use firefox. Chrome has been buggy as hell for the past 4-6 months. Only reason i keep using it is because its lightining fast, but even that is almost not enough. Almost. Wonder what happened with the chrome team. I ...

I love it. I'll admit it can get really frustrating at times, and the hardcore battletech community being in open revolt being a clear signal that some choices are not right, but still. Been playing it for a year, since closed beta. Yeah it was more "fun" back then (not as much cheese buil...

I think game_boy's remark explains my feelings about this thread.

I bought a passive 5500 agp, 5 years ago. And it was considered obsolete back then.

Re: Does anyone buy their glasses/sunglasses online?

I just do a search of the code of the frame i'm interested in amazon http://www.amazon.com/Ray-Ban-Eyeglasses-RX7012-Tortoise/dp/B003EEPDG0 As an example. Ray ban frames have codes so its easy to find a new frame for a given model, and its at least half what they usually charge at an optometrist for...

If EA make Star Wars games people want to buy and play -> great! If EA make Star Wars games that suck and people don't buy them -> they go bankrupt I don't see a problem? Unfortunately you forgot the third option: EA makes craptastic abominations of Star Wars (think Jar-Jar on Ice) and still manage...

According to what i read somewhere, if you have bad browsing habits (like i do) and have a ton of tabs opened at the same time (+20) the browser will starts to get slow at switching tabs and normal scrolling independently of how much memory you have on your system. its a problem because of the 32 bi...

Re: $150-$200 Headset?

My experience is the exact opposite, internal soundcards are an amazing value since you don't have to pay for case or psu and the boards are mass produced. The titanium HD and Essence STX are better than any external DAC/AMP solution I know of below $350. Especially the Essence STX and a pair of HD...

I had the logitech Z-Cinema two years ago, that set died because of a power surge, and although they didn't wen't as high as other sets, the quality of the sound from the speakers was unbelievable (for PC speakers), even if the bass was a little boomy, and were seriously underpowered. if anything can help you, its Getdataback, has worked for me everytime except when the issue is a hard drive with bad sectors on it, if it comes to that, it depends on how bad the situation is, and how long did you waited to recover your data :(
