Re: New Notfred diskless version out

The out of space thing has always been there, but it never seems to have caused an issue.

I also alwaysed up my ram to 1Gig. If you retsart every so often it seems to keep it away.

Re: GPU2 client stuck at 0/0

Never use the duisplay, d/l fahmon or fahspy. The viewer has many known bugs

I second the normal part,. My 260 takes like 4 mins per %, my 8800gt is over 6mins.

Re: Nvidia GPU + Vista64 + 185.20 = Monster PPD Boost

Both ATI and Nvidia got the new core. Turns out, alot of work got skipped using the 185.20 driver, as well with some of the new cores.

Right now, ppds will be down, but new benchmarkings coming that'll pop it back up.

Re: Q6600 OC voltages?

I can get everyday stable at 3.2 #@1.3Vs Passes a few ours of prime too.

However, folding 24/7 has me locking up, so I've bumped it up to 1.3895Vs

My Vids quite low to, at 1.225Vs.

Re: New Notfred diskless version out

Shinare,
What chip? The chip needs virtualization or something or other. My e2180 won't run a 64bit vmware, but mny q6600 does.

Now if you switched to 64bit OS, i've been told will let run 64bit vmwares.

Anyway mr. notfred, I love your disk in vmware.

Thanks

Re: Folding Without a monitor? AND The GPU CLient Crash Issue

Vista needs a dummy plug.

Not sure your cards, but you could put one on the second plug, and run a screen on the other.

GTX cards and everything else don't fold well together.. There seems to be a driver conflict somehow.

Check foldingforum.org for more info.

Re: New Notfred diskless version out

The new version is set back to 640.. I boosted mine to 960, for the big units.

I've setup a real Ubuntu as well, took me forever to setup the samba so as to use fahmon........ The fred brought this out the next day.

Planetamd has a great and easy guide how to, but this disk is still the easiest way.

Okay.......

Just went to poweroff the vmware using the login, and poweroff and reboot didn't do anything, for both the 08 release and 15th release...

Anyone else get this?

Re: Maximum 24/7 Folding

You'll need to setup the smp properly, including either deino or mc-whatever... If you're x64 you'lkl need deino.

Go the the folding d/l site and read the install, as it's not just double click.

Then jus run it with the proper flags.

Re: New Notfred diskless version out

Hmmm, The webpage does indeed say that...... Must have miss read it during the initial bootup in vmware window. Seems the backup issues around still. If i reboot the disk, the backup restores all the work done upto the reboot. So if i'm working on unit 03, a reboot causes all the data/files from 01 ...

Re: New Notfred diskless version out

Notfreds also is setup for monitoring, and what not... Notfreds is quite easy, i also have a ubutntu vm setup, to run. Just boot the vmware and it goes. Using a full distro has to all get run, as well as space. The only complaint would be not able to -oneunit it. So far the new disk is good, no issu...

Vista requires a monitor, so check the "sleep" settings.

Yes you can cpu/gpu fold. d/l a client and run it.

Re: FPS Drops with GPU Client?

Yha, you'll have to disable crossfire/sli, else you technically only have 1 gpu running.

The lagging is, as far as i know, the gpu client filling in your dead space. I just use the sys tray client and just pause it to game.
