Re: Help me get a well in my daughters african village!

SSK,

Great project idea, so it was easy to support by voting for your proposal. I'm no fan of FB either, but following your link it was easy to click to read your story then vote for your proposal. I'll keep voting and hope that you win!

Re: Console vs. gaming PC

Console gameing is like fast food and PC gaming is like fine dining. Sure, Vrock is right.. america is full of idiots eating at McDonalds and Arbys. But some of us like real food. Food with a soul rather than fat layered fat. Even I, sometimes whip through Burger King or some such if I'm in a rush ...

Re: Bent socket 2011 pins and CPU damage?

You are trying to rationalize your behavior which implies you know that it is wrong. The fact that you are lying to the retailer, also indicates you know that faking it is wrong. I am absolutely positive that if you were on the receiving end and someone else stuck you with this you'd be yelling blo...

Re: TES V: Skyrim

Obviously many of you are very happy with your Steam accounts, but remember, Steam offers nothing to me (and no, keeping a CD in the tray and the risk of misplacing a CD have never been a problem from my point of view). Perhaps some of you can educate me and give me some reassurance that I should j...

I'm sort of pissed at Steam as well. My (related) rant is regarding the requirement of Steam activation for Skyrim. Should I be pissed at Bethesda or Valve/Steam (or both)? I know that Steam offers things that many people want and enjoy, but I'm not one of them. I want to preorder (i.e. pay full re...

Re: Top 3 PC Game Developers?

Had I seen this topic when it came out, my reply would have been:

1. Bethesda
2. Sierra
3. CDProjekt

However, when Bethesda decided to require Steam activation, I must change to:

1. Sierra
2. CDProjekt
3. Whomever makes a good game that doesn't require Steam.

Re: Dual Core Gaming Build

Question: I saw from the pictures that the fan is using a 3-pin connector. Does that mean it cannot let a 4-pin fan header control it via PWM? You have to use the included fan controller then? I'm afraid so. AFAIK, if you plug in a 3-pin fan connector (with all 3 wires of course) to a 4-pin fan hea...

I Had all 4 wisdom teeth removed (2 were impacted) about 3 months ago, and I went the Novocaine route. The oral surgeon asked if I was okay when I beaded up in a cold sweat halfway through. I told him "I'm okay, I just don't like the look of the scissors your assistant just handed you". Su...

Good job on the pictures! :) My comments/questions: 1. The fan that comes with the CCF looks different from the one in the newegg pictures. Is that so? 2. Breakfast of Champions, Vonnegut. Not a bad read albeit seemingly unorganized. I hear that's just his style though. I haven't read Vonnegut in years, but I'd say you have it just about right. Very naughty and subversive to me when first read in 8th grade. For me, Cat's Cradle is his masterwork, man...

Are those temps CoreTemp/RealTemp readings or from the Gigabyte tool? I just downloaded CoreTemp and RealTemp. CoreTemp shows both cores bouncing between 38 and 40 with 100% load. RealTemp shows (after ~7 minutes) GPU at 44, load ranging from 94.6 -97.6%, temps of 38 on both cores, with minimums of...

Re: Dual Core Gaming Build

25 degrees is reasonable? 25 degrees is great! It would be a shame not to overclock. With top and rear exhaust fans around the CPU it doesn't really matter which way you mount the heatsink. Feel free to turn the CPU's fan speed down if it's too loud, that thing will cool like a beast even without a...
