Re: PC does not wake up from sleep even after pressing power

I had the same problem for about a year with my ga-p67x-ud3 b3 board. It would frequently have a black screen on resume from s3 sleep, or often powercycle. This would happen on average of 2-3 times per week. I tried all sort of tricks. Finally I decided to do it systematically by changing 1 voltage ...

Re: Super cheap build

I second the recommendations for a used or refurbished ebay gaming box. If that is not feasible, I would buy a low end dell/HP/lenovo workstation and add a low power GPU.

Hi, Just an opinion, but talk to your doctor as well. In general, low T (aka hypogonadism) is a common question general practioners face in their office. The patient has some variety of symptoms and wonders if its due to lack of testosterone. In general the symptoms are loss of libido, erectile dysf...

All these whiners and their first world problems. Be thankful you can afford a 600 dollar phone in the first place. First of all cell phones have completely replaced landlines so that twenty a month you prior would have spent maintaining a home phone is now incorporated into your cell phone bill. Th...

Re: Thinking about getting an SSD

Buy the biggest ssd you can afford. Then worry about the warranty (except for OCZ). Even if you buy a ssd with only a 2 year warranty, in 2 years, what will be on the market will completely outclass whatever you have right now. Heck in 2 years, I'm not even sure SATA ssds will be around; they may al...

Well, I will throw this out there. Honestly, I rarely buy new headphones; maybe one or two I think. I have in the past owned a sennheiser HD 555, hd 600, and HD 650 all I bought used. I have owned a denon AH-2000. Honestly, all of these headsets are built to last and I never had any issue buying a u...

Why people drop $100+ on headphones which consist of some magnets, wire, and some plastic is beyond me. These same people will shop around to save $5 on the $50 device playing the music using compressed audio streams or compressed files as the source, or playback on a smart phone. To me I see headp...

Get a bigger screen. 23 inches is so 2005. I'd think at least 27 if not 30 for any machine I was building today.

No problem. Yeah it appears quite obvious to the really smart guys who figured out how exactly intel was locking them out thats its a matter of changing a couple of hex codes from 0 to 1 for the p67 and z68 raid controllers, but leaving htem on for the newer chipsets essentially. For all asus mother...

Raid-0 trim support

Hi. If you are not aware, users on anandtech's storage forums have found a bios modification that enables trim for raid-0 platforms that previously were not supported by intel. Its a fairly interesting thread but trim has been documented to be working on h55, p67, and z68 systems so far by several u...

Chrome sign in launches new page without signing in

I recently switched over to chrome from IE9. The issue I'm having is for a significant portion of the time (>50 percent), whenever I have to sign in to a website, chrome launches a new tab with that website without signing in on either tab page.

Has anyone else encountered this and knows a fix?

What to do with old hardware?

1) Sell it off on ebay
2) Donate it to libaries, schools, and churches and use them as tax write offs.

Re: Which i7, Help fast please

I can't recommend the 2700k. Its just a little faster than the 2600k and that difference can easily easily be made up with OCing. In fact, most people can get around 4.3-4.4 ghz onall cores with all threads with the default voltage.

I'd say get the 2600k and OC it to around 4.4 and be happy.

Perhaps simply consider those losses? You honestly may end up spending more to use those 4 sticks than the sticks are worth.

Average battery life takes a 2 hour hit with windows, going from about 6 hours to 4hrs. Also you need to dedicate space to OSX and then install windows on top of it. Concerning the touchpad issue, honestly I've used the touchpad on a macbook 13. It was ok. I wasn't blown away, but honestly its becau...

I disagree. If you run OSX or linux get a macbook air. If you run windows, get a windows based ultrabook. Consider the SSD alone. On the air you have a 128gb SSD that now has to hold OSX and Win7. I'd recommend waiting till april as the ultrabook prices for todays models are expected to fall by abou...

Make sure you have the latest bios updates for your board and the latest firmware. Also make sure you have the latest intel RST drivers.
