if you zoom in on the picture it is printed as "RDIM" and Crucial's euro website (couldn't find the part # in the US site) agrees http://eu.crucial.com/eur/en/ct2k16g4rfd4213

Are you sure that RAM and mobo are compatible? I don't think C236's can take registered RAM.

It's sometimes possible to recover data after a rm -rf. This guy should dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/sd* just to be sure it's really gone

Typical class-action settlement: 10 lawyers each get $20,000,000 in cash. 400,000 class members each get a $500 credit towards the purchase of a new 2016 Volkswagen vehicle if they agree to finance it through Volkswagen. Because they're being magnanimous, they'll also guarantee to give you at least...

Re: TrueCrypt "not secure", shuts its doors

It's definitely strange. If the site has been hacked why haven't the devs responded? People who audited the code claim to have contact with the devs and no one has heard anything yet. Why hasn't the GPG key used to sign the binaries been revoked? To me the thing that makes the most sense is that som...

I would guess a paging file and hybernate file are taking up the rest. Try turning on the option to show protected system files in control panel and look again.

Re: Can you "break into" whole-disk encryption???

Another vote for Truecrypt. It's secure and easy. Only problem with it I have is it doesn't allow for system disk encryption under linux. My laptop is running Windows 7. Within that is a Ubuntu VirtualBox, but I guess it's virtual disk will be encrypted by whatever method I chose to lock the Window...

Re: Hills to flat terrain

It is certainly more fatiguing to run uphill. Unfortunately the conversion to equivalent distance run on flats is not easy to make. Muscle strength, anaerobic threshold, and max heart rate will be taxed significantly more by uphill running. Other things are more of a gray area. Endurance in terms of...

Re: TrueCrypt speeds in Sandy Bridge and Fusion

I have an Acer with similar specs to the hp dm1z(same cpu/chipset) that I ran with TrueCrypt on for a while. I didn't experience any noticeable slow down compared to the laptops pre-TrueCrypt state. I was running it with an SSD, but if anything that would further tax the cpu.

in heel-strike running( read: with shoes), improper footwear is the leading cause of injury. If they made shoes without giant heels, I would buy them in a heartbeat. It is so difficult to run in modern "running" shoes it's sad. I had a friend who switched to a very minimal shoe that was e...

Hill repeats are one of the toughest workouts to do from a mental stand point. They are also one of the most beneficial as they target virtually every energy system. Re: Running

The most important part of marathon training is the long run. Your longest long run in training should come out somewhere between 18 and 22 miles(depending on fitness and development). To get to that point, you should gradually build up over time as mentioned above. You should pick one day a week th...

If it is mounting properly it's possible, but unlikely, that you need to change a setting in gconf. To open it, type "gconf-editor" into a terminal or the Run command(ALT-F2) and hit enter. Navigate the window to "apps/nautilus/desktop". Check to see if the "volumes_visible&...

PRAM(pahse change RAM) has its own problems. Obviously future innovations will always lead to something better, but I think flash memory will stick around for a while despite its limitations.

agreed with above; I'm thinking of bringing my RAM to 8 gigs. It's a horribly inefficient game. Addictive as hell though. I'm running a core i7 930 with 12 GB DDR3 1600 RAM and it still gets slow towards the end. My brother is playing with a core 2 quad and 4 gigs of DDR2 800 RAM and is not much sl...
