Re: help me find a DVI Switch

What I am going to try today is hooking the xbox up to the monitor via hdmi/dvi adaptor to see if I can get picture.
If it works I will need a switch that supports dual link dvi I don't need one hdmi and one dvi just dual dual link dvi on the switch.

Well the model I got is a crossover 27Q they were the highest rated on all the sites. But It seems with only one input this will not be happening.

Re: help me find a DVI Switch

I will check out those ones at monoprice, but keep in mind. The only input on the monitor is dual link dvi. And the switch will need a dual link dvi for me to be able to get 2560x1440 resolution from my monitor.
I believe hdmi only does 1080

help me find a DVI Switch

Ok so I have been playing my xbox 360 on a spare computer monitor because my tvs just seem to lag a little even with game mode on. I have been playing halo 4 on it and it is a 22 inch dell lcd. I recently bought one of the korean IPS monitors that is hooked to my computer but the monitor only has on...

Re: Video card for 2560x1440

I ended up enabling vsynce because my monitor is only 60hz. You want to be careful with that, or at least give it some back-and-forth testing. If you're not getting significant image tearing, don't enable vsync. The reason is that vsync by definition only works with your monitor's refresh rate (60)...

Re: Video card for 2560x1440

Well back to what this thread was about. My GTX460 768mb was replaced with a gigabyte 900mhz hd7950. Benchmarks in games went well. In diablo with the 460 my fps went from 50-60fps down to the 20s when in high combat situations. With 4950 I was getting over 100fps and only dropping to 60 ish with lo...

Re: Video card for 2560x1440

7950 3gb. runs great. outperforms the 7970 at high res. Why's that? I avoided the 7970 because I couldn't justify the extra 50% cost for what is basically a pretty small performance boost, but I thought the 7970 had more or equal everything. Is it because 7950's overclock higher than 7970's or is t...

FYI In real life every soldier does not walk around with special eyewear to protect from lasers and flashlights. In fact most of them do not. And a lot of eyewear that they use they buy themselves. flashlights and lasers have real life uses as well. They are used to blind or stun others. Just like i...

Re: Video card for 2560x1440

I hope I am happy. I am more worried about the korean IPS monitor than I am the video card.
The card I chose is the gigabyte version with a core clock of 900. Many sites rank it the top performing 7950 and it has obscene OC potential.

Re: Video card for 2560x1440

When mine arrived back in the summer I had available to try: ⋅ GTX460 768 ⋅ 6850 1GB ⋅ 6950 2GB ⋅ 7950 3GB At native res, I stopped trying at the 7950. BL2 is probably the most demanding of the games you listed because of the heavy shader use on an older engi...

Im not against keeping my card. I just don't want the new monitor to arrive and then not be able to game. But I guess I could at the point just drop the settings.

Re: Video card for 2560x1440

Consider using a display port cable, VGA/HDMI will end up upscaling, IDK if dual DVI is available on your monitor, single DVI is also insufficient. I learned about these issues connecting a Dell U2711 monitor. Both his monitor and video card support dual-DVI, he won't have a problem. Yes the monito...

Video card for 2560x1440

Ok so today I am ordering one of the korean IPS monitors. And even though I know they aren't great for some games because they are 60hz, I have heard tons of people using them and being happy. My issue is my card gtx 460 of the 768mb style I believe will not run this. I have around 200 to spend on a...

The thread was about some (apparent) Steam integration with the Windows 8 start screen, which if you're going to use Windows 8 and Steam should come in pretty handy. The options have been clear for a long time now - switch OSes or stick with 7 if you don't like it, but seriously it's time to move o...

Re: Tablet recommendations?

I have had the Microsoft Surface since release. And while there may be a bug or 2. I assume it will be addressed with patches soon.
I actually really enjoy it. Battery life is great. Video looks awesome. And being able to use a memory card is pretty sweet.

Re: Did anyone Preorder Surface?

No, I didn't and wouldn't, even if I was in the market for a new tablet. Because it is Microsoft, and Microsoft hasn't done well with prior mobile devices. And because Microsoft is cramming RT down the throats of its desktop users. Not cool, not friendly. Behavior like this often portends future tr...

Well if you take you order # from microsoft and remove the MS you can search it on fedex.com using reference number search.
Though mine says it will be delivered the 29th now.

Did anyone Preorder Surface?

I preordered Surface RT 32gb with touch cover on release date. Was promised delivery by the 26th. Which is tomorrow. It hasn't even shipped yet. And when you contact Microsoft they give you generic prepared statements on how they will arrive on time, and never check the actual order information. I a...

Do you guys have that on your computer? If so check and see if the issue is there as well.

Re: Very weird Borderlands 2 problem

Step one if possible. Plug in a different mouse and see if moving it causes the problem to persist. Step 2 move the mouse to a different USB port. 3 maybe update the mouse driver if it is one that requires software. Reading on another forum said it could be caused by cpu overclocking or bad driver w...
