Whoa! You're about to waste a whole lot of money. Go to AbsPC - the parent company of NewEgg - and order their Ultimate M3 Model. It includes the Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard. The absolute highest you should go for an AMD processor is 2800+ Barton. Their systems with 9800 pro don't arrive for 2 wee...

What do ya plan on doing with your computer - games, office-type work, 3D modeling, other?

Edit: Nevermind. You mentioned the planned usage on the other thread.

I never set up a 3D modeling computer so can't offer much advice. Hope everything works out. :D

Re: T-Bred "B"'s for all

Hi. AMD have actually stated, and I remember an artical on HardOCP that AMD now prduce all their CPU's using the T-Bred "B" cores, except of course the newer higher end CPU's, that sport the Barton core. I'll be glad when all Athlon XPs in the low range are TBred-Bs or better. Then we won't have to...

Re: Athlon XP tbredB cuestion

the Athlon XP 1700 is also a tbredB? If ya buy a 1700+, it could come with three possible cores - TBred-B, TBred-A and Palomino. No barton for 1700+. is the tbredB the best of XP? As far as advancement, it goes in this order => 1. Barton 2. TBred-B 3. TBred-A 4. Palomino You'll find that the TBred-...

What's the specs on your power supply?

Any possibility of overclocking?

- The 800MHz QDR FSB Intel chipset mobos may be quite expensive when they're first released.

Considering the two, get the 2500+. You will not notice a performance difference between the two processors. Price difference unjustifiable in this case.

Anyone know if the Dual Channel DDR will still function on the A7N8X if you install 3 identical memory sticks in all three memory slots? It seems kinda wierd that if you go and install that 3rd stick of mem, it may not run in Dual DDR mode like the other two sticks, but instead run in standard mode...

For nForce2, in order to have the complete amount of memory in Dual-DDR, balance the amount of memory across the two channels - can be accomplished with 2 or 3 memory modules. If not balanced, a portion of the memory will be accessed in Dual DDR mode and a portion will be accessed in normal mode. Du...

Yeah, p4pe is probably a bit faster out-of-box but I would be interested to know why. Maybe because p4pe is more mature or because some manus cheat by increasing FSB a bit in order to win out-of-box benchmarks against other mobos of the same class. Ofcourse if you're overclocking, none of that matte...

I am leaning towards the ASUS board cause I have read a LOT of really bad things about the nf7. Those rumors were started by theInquirer. - Stick with the nvidia audio. No need for sound card. - The money ya would've used to get the sound card, should go towards the purchase of ATi 9800 Pro. - If ya get NF7-S, make sure it's revision 1.2. Sold at excaliberPC. - I don't think the BIOS that NF7-S ships with supports corsair low-latency ...
