Yeah, there's room for them wherever, and scrap wood we can use for kickstand weight distribution.

Found a couple more unused pictures: Mohawk closeup. http://photos.dr_fish.speedymail.org/techreport/fure/Img_7480.jpg This was my original YouTube thumbnail image, before I made the awful college. Re: Behind the Seams: Fur E

This thread and the story itself are the only things posted about it. I think it's best to leave a thread a thread for any ongoing discussion (or fur ther developments). I'm not sure what to do with the case. Making it a prize for the BBQ sounds fun. A wider TR giveaway sounds fun. Animal charity fu...

Behind the Seams: Fur E

As most of you have figured out by now, Fractal did not make the Fur E . As some of you probably guessed (since her work has been on TR before ), I recruited my talented sister for help with the project. I just wanted to take a second to thank her for her help (thank you!) and show a few behind the ...

Re: TR BBQ XIV - Official Thread (7/15/17 confirmed)

That's possible, but I'm not sure I want to dig into how effective the could be a fund raising. Plus, that would open things up to non-attendees, which is fine I guess, but the BBQ is still in this weird official-unofficial status... Plus, I write for TR, but I'm not an employee. So, I don't want to...

I have a great idea for a shirt, but they are so much hassle with so little payback, I just don't have the drive to do one this year. :(

Re: dating ads on TR?

ZOMG, morphine wants us to click on teh ads! Seriously though, you have no idea the effort the TR goes though to avoid "bad" ads. Over the weekend, I reported an ad to Bruno, he literally stopped what he was doing and went back home immediately to adjust things/kill the offending ad. I'm p...

Thanks! BTW, that split between my desk and "the chair" is about 99.5% in favor of the chair. My 34" ultra-wide hates me, not sure what do to with that thing anymore.

Re: games with 16gb system requirements...fact? or fiction?

I know a few people who run 12GB in dual channel 4 slots... 2x4 and 2x2. as long as the pairs matched you were fine. there were times when 8GB was not enough and 16GB was too expensive. Times have changed but many have not upgraded their systems since systems built 6 years ago are still good for to...

Re: games with 16gb system requirements...fact? or fiction?

Basically, if a game needs over 8GB, you're going to need 16GB if we're talking about dual channel memory systems. Some games certainly need over 8GB. I can confirm that Ark does for one (just going by what it utilizes). Triple channel memory systems may be ok with 12GB though, I guess. Even if a ga...

Re: Ryzen - No 6 core parts?

Reports are coming out that  prices are more likely to be from $580 to $720. IMHO there's no way AMD would be able to offer any Ryzen chips at  the prices the OP is stating. I haven't seen any credible report that prices would be that high or what's in the OP.  At this point it seems more like ever...

I listen to the QT3 movie podcast as my primary, it usually takes me my whole week of commuting to get through. If I get through it, I flip over to the QT3 games podcast . If I happen to catch up on that I'll listen to the latest from Rooster Teeth . The one that takes precedence over all of them is...

Re: O Tech Report, Tech Report, wherefore art thou Tech Report?

Currently as far as I'm aware once benchmarked at launch these GPU results are re-used almost indefinitely, which is the biggest shortcoming of things like Anandtech's Bench comparison tool. A launch day GPU review is basically going to give worst-case performance since it will always use the least...

7700K, stock for now, but I'm getting great load temps with my H115i so I'll probably OC a little bit after another week or so of proven stability.

I'd like to see that done just to see how long it takes before someone on staff breaks down and admits RGB LEDs are annoying and they can't take it anymore. I guess we need to sarcasm harder. I think Zak is the only one actually seduced by the blinken light side. Trust me, they only get the attenti...

Re: Kaby Lake 7700K vs Sandy Bridge 2600K @[H]

IDK, like I said above, even Rimworld, which reports a steady 60 FPS on both systems, is subjectively smoother on my 7700k with it's super-speed memory. I wish we knew how good it really was, though. While speeds are up, latency gets (in general) worse with every generation. At some point it seems ...
