Re: What cricket products are you eating?

I've baked bread with cricket flour, it was good. I've also tried some cricket bars that were good. I ordered some cricket chips, but didn't eat them because the packaging was damaged.

I'll try more, but the biggest thing stopping me is price and variety. The logic is sound and appealing.

Re: TR BBQ XV - Official Thread

YAY! I'm excited there's at least one more. I'm planning on going again, hopefully on the motorcycle again. FWIW, it isn't that the BBQ would end if/when the cottage became unavailable (which could happen for a number for reasons, including becoming too expensive to rent, even at the family rate). ...

TR BBQ XV - Official Thread

There are a lot of ways I could start this thread this year. I think the first thing I want to say is that each year the future of the cottage gets a little dicier. I mentioned this last year, and talked to a few folks about it at the BBQ. The short version of the story is that cottages on Lake Mich...

Too low of resolution.

If you had the money and power, it is perfectly possible to use 0.7 mm pixel pitch LED to create a really immersive room.

You only need a 256x240 grid for a NES emulator.

Re: [GamesIndustry.biz] The Year In Numbers 2017

I had a paintball game from back in the day that was a straight-fps. That was the closest thing to a virtual form of a game that could actually be played physically. It's old, and it runs best with a Glide wrapper[!], but Nerf Arena Blast is worth a look if you've never tried it. I still have my or...

Also, the CTF game you're talking about is something I've wanted to see redone as an FPS ever since.

Re: STAR WARS TIME! - Spoiler Lock Lifted

Part of the reason I was so pissed at that scene the first time I watched it was because I thought they really had killed her off that early on and I was impressed that they would do something so ballsy. It sat better with me the second viewing because I knew what to expect. In fact, the entire movi...

Oh, the irony. You honestly sound just like Luke whining in ESB, when he goes searching for a mighty Jedi master Yoda, and instead finds a green weirdo in a swamp. Thank you! Huh. FWIW, I've used SW 2017 SP1 and SP4 on all three major versions of Win10 available this year with no such problems. I'm a one man IT show, so I don't have the constraints you need deal with. As such, many of the things I would try probably aren't options for you. Here's some low-effort ideas th...

Re: Robo Vacuum for Christmas

Best deals I've seen are from NewEgg and Amazon marketplace sellers. I still don't recommend someone go right out and buy a top of the line $500-800 model right away. Look for a refurb XV-21 for $125. If you like it, dedicate it to a room or a floor of your house when you get a brand new one. You mi...

As long as you think of it as a sweeper instead of a vac, it'll probably be fine. Personally, I'd go for a refurb Neato for the same price or less, as they can frequently be found for.

That's a strange coincidence for a story to tell and for me to notice. Less than an hour ago, we had a testing device break and a bolt head went missing. I've quarantined the product that was made before the break down so it won't ship until someone finds the bolt head in one of the boxes that passe...

It should be just fine on hardwood. I have read some horror stories about scratches though, so you may want to test it on a small out of the way area first. I've run mine on both cheap and high-quality laminate flooring without issue, but never on actual hardwood. I assume it will come down to the q...

Holy crap . I might have to get one of these if they come back in stock. I hope you WP enthusiasts get you what you want, but that article again highlights how badly MS borked Windows Phone. They didn't even include CDMA support in Windows 10 Mobile? Really? That's roughly half of all US mobile sub...
