Somewhere in my book collection (currently separated from me by the midden pile known as my daughter's room) is a copy of the very first non-Lucas piece of Star Wars. It's the only EU/Legends/whatever I own.

Why do you want your car to make more noise? That doesn't make it go any faster. Is it just to annoy others or draw attention? I think they're talking about the kind of noise not the loudness of noise. Ferrari V12 Mazda 4-rotor Audi Quattro Killer B The insanity called Can-Am I could go on for days...

Re: Average fuel consumption

TBWs should have no inherent reason to be that laggy, but somehow not one of them I've ever driven feels as crisp as a decent mechanical system. Chrysler(/Dodge/Jeep) in particular seems to have major issues with this. There's no real lag on sports cars with them - but on regular cars I imagine the...

Interesting comments from Synthetel2 about gas pedals being closer to binary than linear; I don't think I've ever owned a car with an electronic throttle, so that kind of figures - where just 10% throttle = 90% peak torque at that engine speed. Interesting comment but complete crap. The throttle ex...

$3.199/gallon, or $0.85/litre, for premium (93 AKI) this AM. The one downside of Subie turbos is the need for premium. In Canadian pesos that's $3.97/gallon or $1.05/litre.

The Forester usually averages 27/28 MPG in summer and 23/24 MPG in winter (snow tires & winter gas), but the recent 0F temps have me at about 20 MPG according to the dash widget. Instantaneous MPG only comes back up once the engine is fully warmed up (which takes quite some time).
