Re: the official Indian food lovers thread!

There's a really good Indian/Nepali place just down the road and their lamb vindaloo is delicious (and spicy as hell). Haven't tried the goat yet, but they have it on the menu. Haven't had a bad thing from them yet.

Dodged a bullet on this one. Had the exact compromised version on my work lappy, but the 64-bit version didn't have the malware. That saved me from some "interesting" 'splainin. According to Piriform's site, the installer for 5.34 (latest malware-free version) will remove the malware. Have...

It was much easier to find the "good" shops when I lived in a less urban part of the country. The joys of Vermont. I happened on this shop when I moved in with my girlfriend (later wife, and SWMBO) somewhere back in the last century (1990 or so). The lead service writer has a kid the same...

I tend to be a bit proactive of maintenance of this car as I really would like another six years or so out of it. Like you, I "pre-load" the preventative maintenance. I expect to buy a new ride every five years and that the old one will have roughly 130K miles on it when it goes. I don't ...

Nope. Last two prior sales dates per EDGAR:

Ploder: 11/29/2016 - 08/29/2016
Gamble: 05/23/2017 - 05/20/2014
Loughran: 02/28/2017 - 02/21/2017

EDGAR knows all

I love (and am happy to watch) a close, well fought game in almost any sport. Was that all the first game was? Or is there more behind the 'dumbest game' comments? Was it just the 'dumbest' game because their favoured team lost? It was an ugly, sloppy, and poorly-played game on both sides, which dr...

I once saw, some 15+ years ago now, where someone had found an unlocked highway sign and had reprogrammed it to say:

Klaatu
Barada
Nikto

If I ever find myself in such a situation, that is exactly what I will make the sign say.

Here are the required SEC reports for insider securities sales

Rodolfo Ploder - President - Workforce Solutions

John Gamble, Jr. - CVP & CFO

Joseph Loughran - President - USIS (??)

All three sold on 8/1/17, but sold nowhere close to their entire holdings.

Re: Playing with a 41 year old subwoofer

The Dahlquist DQ-10 was designed to have this subwoofer, though after buying the DQ-10s on their own most people ran of of cash for the subwoofers.

Still, a wonderful piece of vintage audio history. Now all you need do is find a pair of DQ-10s in proper repair (good luck on that).

100 MB/sec is the best I can hope for when writing to the backup drive in its USB 3.0 sled, and that's only for really big files. For small stuff, 80 MB/sec is a more reasonable expectation.
