Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

Inertia, I think. The leagues have been there for many years, since the start of fantasy sports on TR, back when there were like four regular NFL leagues plus the keepers. I wouldn't use it at all except for fantasy sports. I've used ESPN's fantasy football platform. That league moved to Yahoo for ...

Re: Saving change fo new PC in three years.

A kid's beach pail, once full, usually nets me $400 USD. Those poor kids! Yep, that's me. Walking the beach and waiting for kids/parents to ignore the 99-cent bucket so I can steal it and fill it with my leftover change. That extra dollar to buy the bucket on my own completely screws the economics ...

The joys of marketing your product to the government: https://www.fedramp.gov/ I had never even heard of FedRAMP before today. I guess I will be learning more about it in the weeks to come. Re: Please help a choosing Processor

As a quick & dirty option, use Windows Task Manager > Performance. Use Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager, turn on "more details" if necessary, then go to the Performance tab. You can see how active your system is in real time using this -- it's by no means the most advanced system m...

Ugh, can we please stop with "Digital XLR"?? It's AES/EBU. It just happens to be carried over a cable terminated in XLR connectors.

Dogfish Liquid Truth Serum. Supposedly an IPA where all of the hop bill came in AFTER the boil. It's not really an IPA as with no hops in the boil the malt weight and sweetness overpowers anything the dry-hops could do. It's not bad by any stretch, but trying to pin an IPA label on it (given what th...

I don't remember it being all that different from other productions I've seen - the Neely movie and a live tour production from 2008 or 2009. But time has passed since I've seen either of those, too. Probably an artifact of ca. 1970 all-analog recording and the likely "herbal supplements"...

Some of Ian Gillian's best work isn't on any Deep Purple album, it's on the Decca-label "soundtrack" (album was released to try to get a spot in a proper theatre) to Jesus Christ Superstar . Seconded. That cast is amazing, and Gillian outshines Ted Neely at every turn. Murray Head as Juda...

Try rotating the speakers "outward" (aka "toe-out") from your listening position and correcting the freq. response digitally (from within whatever play-back program you use) at your position. It should improve soundstage-width somewhat. I've already applied some toe-out, basical...

(Deep Purple is as metal as I get) I'd be willing to bet there's some Iron Butterfly and maybe some of the first three James Gang albums in your collection. No, and no, although fixing the lack of James Gang has now moved up the priority list (not that they were ever "metal"). Some of Ian...

Re: New desktop speaker recommendations

To his defense, the DAC's resolution is usually so high than you can drop the signal level pretty low and not lose much. To my surprise, even studio engineers tell people not to worry all that much about having the source tracks at 0dB. If I recall, staying around the -16dB range is perfectly fine....
