Re: Car accident, what is insurance's responsibility?

If your friend doesn't agree with the service she's getting from her insurer, have her contact her state's Department of Insurance (insurance is still regulated state-by-state). They all have Consumer Affairs staff and can assist in getting the process working. FTR, Insurance is part of the larger s...

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

The Star Trek universe and the Dune universe are more related than one would think, if one looks at it in an odd manner. For ST warp drives to not violate Special Relativity causality, they must instead shorten the distance between two points that is then traveled at sub-light speeds from the viewpo...

Sounds like you have two devices both running DHCP servers and both using the same default gateway IP address, so they're fighting each other.

Re: Child Proofing the digital world

The only way to completely child-proof the digital world is to prevent your child from having ANY access to the digital world, including at school. I think the consequences of that would be more harmful over time than your child seeing some inappropriate images or texts.

Indeed. And if you want to do better, you need to resort to RO or distillation, which actually remove impurities, instead of swapping them for less problematic ones. Which means, when brewing certain English ale varieties, one needs to reintroduce the impurities that were removed. Have you ever tas...

Just be careful not to overtighten the tank bolts when you put it back together. BTDT, and it means a trip to the nearest Lowes/Home Depot/insert name here for a whole new toilet, as no one sells just the tank.

Well, since the last " programming language " I ever worked in used line numbers (and I rarely, if ever, ended with 999 instead of 99), I'm hopeless as a dev. I even used GOTO instead of GOSUB. Mind you, this was 1980/1981 and it was high school on a PDP-8/e, but the mental mutilation was ...

Turn off the water and flush the toilet. Use whatever method you prefer to remove the last 1/2" of standing water in the tank, and take the tank off the bowl. You'll have a lot more room to fish around.

OK, I know that in the *nix world, ESR is an higher-evolved deity. Even so, trying to tackle and organize/systematize/render to HTML the entire UNIX man-page beast is a massive project.

EDIT: As for Keepers, if everyone gets their keepers in on time and druidcent approves everything, there's no need for a pre-draft as the Yahoo app will take care of everything in live draft.

Someday, somehow, the full live cockpit camera feed from Senna's car WILL become public and we will finally learn if the Italian prosecutors were correct in their allegation of the broken steering column abandoning Senna to his fate.
