Well. You're taking me a little too literally. I was being flippant :)

Having said that, until WWI the "Windsor" name didn't exist. The Royals still had a german surname "Saxe-Coburg-Gotha".

The Royals are all German anyways.

Heh.

Prince Phillips best(worst?) gaffe was prolly when he and the queen were visiting China. He told an Englishman on the Great Wall of China not to trust the 'slitty eyed' Chinese.

Oh dear..

It depends. My Nokia 6600 is pretty anal about new coonections too, but on my PC (with bt dongle), you can turn the authorisation requirement off.

Bluetooth does rule though. We've had it good in Europe for a long while :)

Heh. Not that shocking really. When I first installed SP2 and noticed that my Norton wasn't changing the status I was weary of believing it anyway. Copy pictures wizard on Server 2003

Has anyone got this working?

When I insert a flash card into my flash reader on XP systems, a wizard pops up and asks where I want to copy files. It doesn't on Server2003 (for obvious security reasons I guess). I just wondered if there was anyway to turn it on.

Cheers.

The computer will boot slower. Windows Security Centre runs as a service, so that has to load.

Having said that. I like it. The bluetooth stack is nice and integrates into the shell much better than 3rd party bt stacks and I like the popup blocker..

I agree about the poster who said we shouldn't be running before we can walk. We need affordable launch vehicles/methods before thinking about going back to the moon.

Space elevators, anyone?

I was just wondering what software firewalls you guys used. I want to run it on a server machine. This machine runs AnalogX's web/mail/news ProxyX program, the other machines on the home network are not firewalled about don't have any direct gateway out on to the internet. Occasionally on the server...

Okay, I can live without the camera actually, but the Symbian interface is brill. My bro-in-law just got a 7250. It's a bit like a smaller 7650, but the OS isn't as complete as in the 7650.

I've got an SLK900 U on an ASUS A7NX8 Deluxe. I had to Dremel away a little bit of three of the heatsink fins to get it to fit. It broke my heart - 'canabalising' such a pretty piece of copper :( The big passive Northbridge (or whatever nVidia calls it) heatsink was in the way too. I bent one of its...

How do you find your Tyan Tiger 100, Howard? I had a BP6 with a pair of Celeron 500's but it went kaputt taking a processor with it about two weeks ago.

I'm 'obtaining' a Tyan Tiger and a pair of PentiumIII 500's sometime this week :)

Does the PIII's cache make a big diff?

Thanks,

I had no end of problems with my Radeon 8500 until I tried upping the CAS latancy rating of my memory in the BIOS (it was set to "2", I increased it to "3"). Wasn't the point of the PowerVR to be scalable? That doesn't have a (servre) AGP memory bottleneck because of the onchip Z-Buffer and tile based rendering means any number of GPUs can be assigned to any number of tiles. The PowerVR chipsets have always languished in the value end of the market - it'...
