Re: Suggestions for gaming laptop.

For $1200 USD I’d go with the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 I just reviewed. https://hothardware.com/reviews/asus-tuf-gaming-a15-review It’s about as fast as the Dell G5 that came out in May but has twice the SSD space and a nicer keyboard and port layout. The Zephyrus G14 is okay but the GPU is a Max-Q model...

Re: DerFunkenstein reviews the iPhone SE 2020

There are cheaper phones, to be sure, but yeah, this is a "budget" price range. Thanks to a near-eternity in software support, as Ned said, the price amortizes over the course of ownership, and iPhones tend to retain their value on the used market for just that reason.

I think one of the best attributes of the jam scene is how many of the bands are open to tapers, and giving some tapers soundboard access. Definitely not feasible for big-name bands (sadly) filling huge venues, but smaller bands and venues. Archive.org is a treasure that I love dearly. There are se...

I forgot about Hydroxychloroquine. You know, for two guys who hate each others' guts, Donald Trump and JB Pritzker have an awful lot in common, including financial interests they're playing up in policy decisions.

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

some of my favorite recordings are live videos I've captured on an iPhone at concerts, so I feel you. Inside the Peoria Civic Center, the iPhone mic array does a great job of echo/noise cancellation and apparently auto-adjusts the gain so it's not distorted, too. I have video of Skillet and Thousand...

Also somewhat of a hot take, but Comfortably Numb is such a bleh song from their entire catalog IMO.

Probably a fair criticism, compared to so much of Pink Floyd's discography. The guitar solos are cool, though.
