Re: Suggestions for gaming laptop.

For $1500 you won't get anything faster than a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, but for the games you're playing that's plenty. Bear in mind you won't play the very latest games at ultra settings. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-crosshair-17-17-3-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i7-16-gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3050...

Prior to today I hadn't logged in for so long that I couldn't remember my password. Then again I had used the same password here for nearly 20 years, so it's possible that my account had been p0wnd.

I even clicked on that "smart mattresses" thing, hoping to see more about this , but instead got a list of dumb mattresses using coil springs to direct wi-fi radiation into the user's head and all known organs. And they hav a user interface, which is not the surface to lie on but a phone ...

It has ascended to its final form: a robotic listicle wasteland. Does this final form make money? I'm thinking no. Honestly at this point, I am hoping I get a 404 each time I log in. Put it out of its misery. They're investing nothing beyond co-located hosting costs, so yes, I do think it makes *so...

Re: The Tech Report forums got a big upgrade

Considering the subjects of the latest messages on the blog, it looks as if the Tech Report tries to change into an information management blog, instead of a tech blog. Considering the capacities of the latest processors and technology, that might be a wise take. Nevertheless, I like their system g...

Two assumptions this post makes that I don't think are true: - Adam sold it for a lot of money - The site is getting significantly less traffic now It's unlikely Adam made a ton of money on the sale since the business was...

Re: Microsoft buys Bethesda

Game Pass was already crazy awesome. I don't understand how MS plans to make money off this, but I love it. They make money through volume. They claim 15 million users right now. That's only gonna go up. 15 million at year at $10/mo (which I'm assuming is average between the new PC price, Xbox pric...

Is it just me, or has there been an uptick in "SEO" content lately? It has me concerned because it kind of feels like: "This thing we own is not generating the revenue we want. Get traffic now or we pull the plug!" Maybe it's working. The Alexa site info page shows a steady upti...

Re: Are you sure you want to buy your little girl Barbie Dolls?

There's a Ken doll head stuck in the wall of my childhood home. Take a small hole in the drywall that my sister used as a "window" for her dolls, and then get his head stuck. Eight-year-old me said, "That's no problem, I'll get it out," and yanked. Off came his head. archaeologis...

If you have the budget for it, I agree. Sub-$1200 or even sub $1500 builds won't change much, but once you get into Ampere 3070 and Ryzen 7 4000 territory it'll be a great time to build.
