Re: Any Spam eaters here(Yes the canned meat product)?

That jellied whole chicken is thoroughly disturbing.

I put canned chicken breast meat in a pasta salad with elbow macaroni, green pepper, onion, colby cheese, and mayonnaise. It's pretty tasty with club crackers. Can't imagine getting it shaped like a whole chicken though.

Re: Any Spam eaters here(Yes the canned meat product)?

I've only ever eaten spam one of three ways:

* Baked in a casserole
* Fried on a sandwich with some good brown mustard
* Fried as a breakfast meat

It's been good like that, though. I could go for some right now.

Re: TR Baseball 2017

That's only possible when the pitcher records an out. Plenty of pitchers have come in and given up runs without getting anyone out. All those LOOGY types who have an outing go terribly wrong and give up a homer, for instance. No ERA because there's no pace to completing a game when that happens.

Re: Seasonic Pulls the Plug on Review Samples - Retail Direct for Reviews

I worked for a company that would "cherry pick" the best units to be sent out for review. Reviews should be done the Consumer Reports way which is to obtain the samples from the same channels that the public would use. That's the implication here, with the added benefit of not making site...

Re: Seasonic Pulls the Plug on Review Samples - Retail Direct for Reviews

I think it's cool. It's how everything should be. There HAVE been examples of "golden samples" in other areas in the past - Asus and MSI both got caught shipping graphics cards to reviewers in OC mode by default, for example. If they're just sending a chunk of PSUs to Newegg and then havin...

It sure as hell helps AMD to sell out of GPUs as fast as they can make them. Even if AMD isn't making more per card. Until an ASIC comes out and the craze dies. Miners are going to dump those things on eBay for next to nothing, and then AMD will have a hard time shifting cards. Thing is nobody know...

Re: Xbox One S, and Microsoft Teases Project Scorpio for 2017

All that aside, "bigger worlds" are technically possible as it is. You're limited by device storage at this point. The Xbox 360 and PS3 did pretty astounding things to run Grand Theft Auto 5, for example. Keeping track of what's going on in those worlds is another story, of course, but I'd...

What's a generation at this point? The XBOX is basically an XBO is basically a low-end PC. You're targeting a platform and an OS now, rather than specific hardware. For the forseeable future you'll have to test that lower hardware spec, but in 3-4 more years the XBOX will be $300 and Microsoft will ...

Re: How recursive is the real world?

You are just doing retries. Could have just rewrite this without the "recusive" call. You are already doing the async pattern which can be tricky to begin with (no CancellationToken?). Besides, your DoSomething is sync, I am not sure why you want to make this async. Ninja: what's your err...

Re: How about an Rx 480... for $640

Actual Newegg, as opposed to the third parties selling there, seems to be "protecting" their big Polaris cards by making them available in bundles only. Want an RX 570? OK, but you have to buy this Ryzen 5 1600 along with it, and you can only buy one combo at a time. Even the 4GB RX 560s a...

OK, so I just used recursion in the real world. The QA instances of the web app that my mobile project goes with get rebuilt every morning and maybe a couple times throughout the day. If the mobile app is the first app to access those instances, they have to spin up. The web client tier deals with t...
