Just saw Black Panther. I heard reviews of "OMG BEST MCU MOVIE YET" but I wouldn't go that far. Still, pretty good.

In light of this HomePod review EndUser's suggestion seems even more ridiculous. If it's not Apple Music or Air Play, it's not possible, and it's launching without stereo support.

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

I started learning URLs to avoid. Someone will text me something from "hello giggles" or "diply" and I just discard it. Sites like that are unusable trash and don't deserve my ad revenue.

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

That smaller harness nonsense is definitely the kind of thing that should get a one-star seller review on Amazon once the refund completes. "We didn't have what you wanted but we're charging you the same price for something that almost assuredly won't work." I ordered a chair from Amazon ...

Re: STAR WARS TIME! - Spoiler Lock Lifted

I'd be interested to know what percentage of current Marvel sales that comics comprises. The movies do so much that it's impossible to think that's just a drip in the bucket.

Ignorant stupid question here: if you buy a TLD do you decide who can make child entries? Does Google have full, autonomous control over the .google TLD?

Re: What are you playing right now?

My group of friends usually complete the season journies together. It's fun, plus you get cool rewards and XP. We haven't played at all in S12, but I'd like to get back into it at some point. We've been playing OW a lot lately. They've made some good balance changes, and they have so many promo eve...

Re: What are you playing right now?

There have been twelve seasons of Diablo 3 RoS. For the second time ever, I completed enough of the season journey to get the extra stash tab, and for the first time ever I completely cleared the season journey. I got my HoTA/IK Barbarian to GR level 82 and amassed a total of 568 paragon levels. Pla...

Re: Let's listen to a well recorded mixtape!

Yes, I believe there's been a bit of a "hipster" cassette revival as well. Don't think it's anywhere near as big as vinyl though. Yes, but it's an incredibly stupid one. Especially in the really-heavy-metal scene, I'm seeing cassete releases. Wait...you mean I could have been putting new ...

Maybe the SPD isn't programmed properly in a way that breaks many Intel systems but happens to run OK on a Bulldozer setup?

Re: iPhone slowdowns with subsequent iOS updates

For my laptop, I prefer the MX Anywhere Mouse , with its amazing darkfield sensor technology. The new version is rechargeable, while mine is the older version that runs for months on a pair of AA batteries. I have a Logitech M535 in my backpack that I use when I go to class. Not that color, though,...

Re: Asus B350M-E + R3 2200G No BIOS Flash

Well, at least you have a fallback option. Would be super frustrating to buy a mobo and APU and not be able to use it unless you had a Ryzen CPU to flash with, though. Hopefully it works out of the box.

Re: Application development or Help Desk, both?

Have you guys thought about going the native route? I've built a few fairly complex Android apps natively and it's not so bad once you get a hang of all the APIs and libs you need to do stuff properly. It'd be cool to do. Over my winter break from school I worked through a Udemy course on Android n...

Real quick: the original point was don't wait for class. If you're interested in something, there's tons of other options. Re: .NET Core on Linux and/or MacOS

Yes, I am pretty sure that is still the case, at least for PC/console games that tend to push the performance of the hardware. "Casual" games may be a different story. For mobile game development it's Objective-C or Swift (on iOS) or Java (on Android). For more casual games, it's most lik...

Re: Application development or Help Desk, both?

Once you start you won't be able to stop. You'll just have to be in learning mode. I couldn't take any summer classes so I spent about $50 on Udemy for two C# classes and a Xamarin Forms class. A couple months later, my hobby became my job and starting in September I was working full time to rewrite...

Re: Application development or Help Desk, both?

whm really if you start now it'll be so much easier this summer. Don't wait to be shown the ropes. Then you better start learning. With perhaps a few exceptions, none of you classes are going to teach you a language. You aren't going to have C++ programming 101 or C programming 202. You might find t...

Got a feeling it won't work well that way but I use it in a VM (no VB support or Windows Forms in the Mac version) on my Mac. You can get Windows for free through Microsoft Imagine and use Virtual Box to run it in a VM. No money that way.

I write C# for .NET on Mac every day, but not really in the ways that you want to. My experience with .NET on macOS is entirely based on Xamarin. I really like it but I don't know how it compares to whatever it is you're trying to replace. 90% of the app I'm porting is in shared code that "just...

I'm not disagreeing with you. Knowing the low level stuff is enlightening, but that's super far down the road at this point. To use a painting analogy. whm1974 is at finger painting level right now. After years of intense study, whm1974 could possibly copy a Rembrandt, but that's going to take a wh...

I ordered a chair from Amazon (a waiting-room style with a rail base) that never shipped. I got a tracking number but UPS only said they were waiting on the package. After about two weeks I could cancel it, got a refund. No chair, though, so I didn't hit the jackpot like jbi did. "You ordered ...

Re: Application development or Help Desk, both?

I'm pretty sure that in 10 years, most support jobs will be replaced by AI systems of some sort anyway. Even finding a meat-ware help desk jockey that can pass the Turing test is rare these days. They don't pay enough to attract intelligent people in the US (not at entry level, anyway), because the...
