Software to display which DIMMs are populated?

I'm looking for some software that will tell me how many DIMMs are present and populated on a motherboard. I'm working remotely and so can't physically open up the computer and see for myself. Can anyone help?

Browse hidden Network shares

Just wondering, Is there a tool available that can list and explore hidden network shares on a server? At present, in order to access the hidden shared folders I have to map a network drive to \\server\folder$, the thing is, there are roughly 100 of these shares and mapping a drive each time is a PI...

Recovering data from corrupt SD Card

My friend has an SD card that was plugged into a camcorder which obviously was being used to record videos and pictures. At the end of a skiing holiday after using it daily he fired up the camcorder and was greeted with a message stating the sd card wasn't formatted :( He's tried the card in an exte...

Need a new wireless keyboard + mouse

As title says, i need a new wireless keyboard and mouse. Mouse needs to be of the smaller notebook variety and the keyboard just needs to be a keyboard, no fancy extra buttons or features. Obviously want it to be well built and wireless like the mouse. This is what im leaning towards for the mouse a...

Re: Preparing Photos for Online Printing Sites

Thanks again. One last thing: The photoshop ppi setting is meaningless when you're providing a file to print at a certain size, by the way - the real dpi is going to be whatever pixel dimensions you have divided by whatever size you're printing at. How does the crop dpi setting differ from the dpi s...

Re: Preparing Photos for Online Printing Sites

Ok. The scenario that led me to ask the questions is this. I've bought a 12MP point and shoot digital camera. The photos are 4000 x 3000 resolution which i downsized (resampled??) to 1024 x 768 to reduce the filesize for uploading and left the ppi at 72 in photoshop. I wasnt overly impressed with t...

If you are getting a Gigabyte get the GA-P35-DS3R, no need to pay extra for DDR3 support. Not worth it IMO.

Thing is, for some reason the Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R which supports both DDR2 +DDR3 is cheaper than the DDR2 version where i am. Any particular reason for this?

With regards to buying an E4xxx and overclocking it (or the cheapest E6xxx), i wont be planning on replacing the cpu for a long time once its built and so i think the out of the box performance of the E6850 is probably better suited for me in the long run. If i do do any overclocking it will most li...

The choice if anyones wondering is between a Samsung SM-245B 24" or a Samsung SM-226BW 22". Theres roughly £100 between the two. The difference between the models of GTX and GTS is around £50. So all in all, £150 is the difference.
