Re: Battletech game coming out

The bit about the jump jets affecting ground speed was unexpected. I was trying a mech configuration trick that was extremely overpowered in MechCommander 2 because of the way that game over-simplified heat. I pulled all of the jump jets off of a Mech to make room for more weapons and armor. I was ...

Re: Battletech game coming out

Although it's a PITA when you strip a mech and put all new stuff only to see it'll be out for 60 days! SORRY? Is he manually dragging a 8T PPC up the scaffolding himself? But yes, the time management is very important. I thought this at first but after a while I noticed (don't know if you've alread...

Re: Battletech game coming out

As big of a Mechwarrior guy I am, I never really got into the RTS/TBS Mech games, but I have started to consider this one. How is the mech lab? Are you stuck with stock variants that have fixed weapons or can you actually modify the loadouts on your mechs? The mech lab is pretty good tbh, though I ...

Re: Battletech game coming out

I wish there was the MadCat, TImberWolf, Loki and Vulture in here, I loved those. They're all Clan mechs, from a different time period in Battletech lore. They wouldn't fit with the story (and I hate them, Inner Sphere til I die 8) ). I'm totally addicted to this game at the moment too. Love that t...

Re: Battlefield 3

Ref the earlier Gerbil Server discussion I'd love to play on that and would be willing to contribute but I guess it would boil down to what kind of connection I get from the UK on a US server.

EDIT: And also whether anyone else would be on it at the same time considering the time difference.

Hi DrkSide, welcome to TR. Black pudding, that kind of repulses me. Ever eat that, imi or annabel or IntelMole or anyone? :) Yeah, I have. Being from NW England, Black Pudding and Rugby are 2 of the most popular things round here. Unfortunately I don't like either of em. (And yes, I have given Black Pudding a chance and not ...

I picked this up last week, split the money between Childs Play and the Devs. I figure devs like this are a worthy cause too seeing as they're harder and harder to come by these days.

Streaky Bacon.....LOL. You brits have the weirdest words for things. It's got streaks of fat running through it, what's so weird about that? Streaky bacon is streaky. Anyway, that's what you normally get in a European Full English and it's not as nice as back bacon which is normally served h...

Re: Positive Playstation 3 Talk and Q/A

I like the stealth. Like when you rescue Gordon and HAVE TO use stealth or it's game over. That section was fun. The section immediately following where you battle Bane is not so much. I've mostly figured out the encounter (hit him in the head with a batarang, let him run into the wall, and then ju...

Re: My first computer!

That's a really good call with the Step up program that Mentawl mentioned and like he said a GTX260 is definitely a better card and worth a little extra, i'd seriously consider that advice. It's a shame you can't hang on a little until there are more DX11 offerings though but that's the way it goes,...

The first letter of the alphabet is "a", and the letter "b" comes after the letter "a". However, the letter you need to worry about is the last one. What's the last letter of the alphabet? I'm guessing the answer to this isn't 'z' so i'll say 't...

You have a flashlight with enough battery for only 17 minutes. And you have four guys on one side of the bridge and you need to get them all to the other side of the bridge. The first guy can cross the bridge in 10 minutes, the second in 2 minutes, the third in 5 minutes, and the fourth in 1 minute...

I can't believe this is making news now. It has been well-known for at least 20 years, and I have made several "ozone" generators for sterilizing basements and sneakers. I put ozone in quotes since it also makes other compounds when combined with nitrogen and water. The trick is to keep t...

Why no mention of a plasma rifle? They gotta be planning that... A Domestos plasma rifle? I don't get the link between the two. Yeah, i'd say for getting to your underarms or into a toilet bowl to kill germs you'd be better off with a Plasma Pistol, a Rifle is just too cumbersome to be used for app...

Re: Modern Warfare 2...help me out

I've been playing MW2 on the PC for the past 2 nights, Single Player was good on the original but so far it's been even more gripping somehow this time, really enjoying it. Multiplayer is only as good as the 1st I reckon though. There's a little more to it but so far it all seems to have come in the...
