Re: Windows 10 Mobile officially dead

Anyway, regarding Windows Mobile - I'm still holding out with my refurb Lumia Icon (the app gap has never affected me). I seriously have no idea how long I will keep this phone or what on earth I will replace it with. From my perspective, Android is a scary mess and Apple just annoys the crap out o...

Re: Windows 10 Mobile officially dead

I own a Nokia 930 and love it. I love the Windows 10 tiles.

I use an iphone quite regularly for my work on-call and I find the interface lacking compared to Win10. It will be a very sad day when my 930 ends.

Re: Asus is taking over my life

Same. At one point I had an Asus router, an Asus tablet, most of the hardware in my computer was Asus and I was slowly pondering the take-over of my life by Asus. However, I recently bought a new D-link AC router and a new Dell laptop so Asus influence over my life has diminished greatly in the past...

I've never seen that kind of plane before. Anybody know what it is?

Looks like an early era jet plane made love to a piston fighter and this is the franken-plane that came out.

I love StarCraft, but am absolutely horrible at playing multiplayer, I have ZERO micro skills. Single player was where it was at for me. And yes, I still do get excited about 20 year old games. Every 4-5 years I'll fire up HL1 and play through (sometimes the original, sometimes the Source or even th...

IMO, Aliens franchise died after Aliens 3. It has been sequelitis non-sense since then. Jim, let it rest in peace. So very true. I came out of Prometheus so disgusted at what I had just saw that I said "that's it, I'm done with this franchise". After suffering through Aliens 4, 2 bad AvP*...

This sucks. I really enjoyed their forums. There were a number of movies I didn't "grasp" (such as 2001: Space Odyssey) that I would go to the forums to read up on to understand the plot or movies that I would read to find other people's theories (such as Edge of Tomorrow). Yeah, there was...

I had to pack my bike away early this year due to a house move and I'm ashamed to say, didn't have the time to winterize it properly. With so many contractors coming to the house for reno's and running about to Home Depot, the bike kinda got pushed down to the bottom of the list. But up here in Otta...

Can't say I've ever listened to a podcast.

98% of the time I read TR is at work or on my phone somewhere, neither places are that conducive to audio. I'd much rather the focus be on text.

Bah, shopping lists are legal pads and a pen. By the time Pajama Boy has woken up his phone, found the list, and deleted the item I've been through the entire produce section and acquired the half-dozen produce items on the list while simultaneously crossing off each item as it hits the cart. I gue...

Watch the clip again: the snowplow is sanding that street all the way down.  :D Haha, I saw that. In Ottawa, that snow plow would just be a private guy throwing a plow on his truck to clear driveways. Our city uses something a little bigger http://storage.ottawasun.com/v1/dynamic_resize/sws_path/su...

(I have just gotten some snow tires, though, which I hope will make some small difference.  Not expecting wonders, though.) I have a Subaru Imprezza (all wheel drive) with brand new Hakkapeliitta snow tires. I love the snow : ) That being said, that clip was shot in Montreal. Quebec (province) isn't widely known for having a great snow removal budget, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if that road wasn't salted/san...

From the article
Mastercard, in contrast, would realize something was wrong in "less than 10 attempts" and shut down the potential crime, no matter where the payment processing was taking place.

Re: new to watching the Walking Dead, opinions?

I LOVED the first season of The Walking Dead. Fantastic. No spoilers, but the second season is a giant snore fest. You can probably skip it without missing too much, but, 'eh, it does set up some new characters. Season 3 and 4 were really good. Edge of the seat. But by time season 5 rolls around, it...
