Re: How bad is Windows 10 Really?

lol well since it's derailed, how can one find out more about Firmware/BIOS coding, one can find C/etc tutorials everywhere, but BIOS/Firmware seems a bit magic in finding some meat and potatoes information on how it's done properly. You'd probably get some of the background for that in a Computer ...

My only thought is how much time I wasted trying to make sense of your post :\ ⋅ The first sentence has obviously-missing words and punctuation, with multiple layers of ambiguity in the meaning of that single sentence. ⋅ The second sentence is also missing at least a preposition...

Re: How bad is Windows 10 Really?

I guess it's a lot harder to tweak than XP or 7 lol If you really want to tweak it then just use Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4.x That said pretty much all of of the functionality can be done within OS settings without the app and I've had very little use for it. In comparison to my time with Win 7, us...

I saw this. I would not expect any real performance gains from it though. It's not like it's going to OC your CPU and GPU for you or something. It's just gonna turn all power saving stuff off, set min processor state to 100% and chew through stuff like you could do manually. edit: Not only that, bu...

I had random problems like that with my RX480 (well what I initially thought was). More of screen would not wake up, freezing on the desktop. I was on win 8.1 and updated to 10. I thought it was a driver, or something. Then one day when it went to sleep the caps and num lock wouldn't work, meaning p...

I hate the way Windows 10 resumes update during my online game play session. I wouldn't say bad, as of now, only been using it about 3 months on a daily basis, but I have found a few things that are annoying/frustrating. Re: How to find the best drives

When it comes to HDD, I think shipping/packaging plays a big role. If you're 200 miles away and get it and it's well packaged, vs., 3000 miles away and poor packaging, I would tend to put more faith in the well packaged one with 200 miles of abuse on it vs the other. Edit - I have gotten a few Seaga...

Here in VT we just use the blue stuff (-20F) year-round with no real issues. The Rain-X stuff (orange) is nice, but much more expensive. I only use the -45C rainx stuff in my vehicle here, year round. edit http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/rain-x-all-season-windshield-washer-fluid-45-c-3-78-l-02941...

I'm notorious for over striking splitting mauls (I blame snow and slippery gloves) so I decided this weekend to fix it once and for all. I drilled and hammered out the old hickory handle then took a section of 2" schedule 40 black pipe and heated and hammered one end into an oval to fit the ey...

Re: Let's take a look at the VP9 decoding performance of 19 different processors!

I found a way to enable VP9 on Firefox. In general, Mozilla's VP9 implementation is faster than Google's, but it appears to be using some form of hardware acceleration. Obviously not for decoding, but perhaps for rendering the decoded frames? The Pentium D and Core 2 Duo--both equipped with GeForce...
