Re: Asus UX305 touchpad borked after upgrade to Win10

I have the UX305, which came with Windows 8.1. After upgrading to Windows 10 the touchpad is misbehaving. First, the sensitivity settings are dialed up, which I can fix easily enough. Second, the 2-finger scroll goes in the opposite direction. All touchpads I've ever used have scrolled the window d...

Yeah I think most us will have more use for a CPU with a major increase in both IPC and clockspeed instead of a just a few more cores. However both AMD and Intel have picked all the low hanging fruit a long time ago. Good think that Apple is leapfroggin'. A9X could replace your desktop right now, b...

Re: Apple Music: The rage is real.

Is it wrong that these days I just rip to high quality preset LAME-encoded VBR mp3s with 320kbps as the ceiling? I'm so rarely in a position to sit down with quality headphones and listen to music that it's just the most pragmatic choice for my typical earbuds or car stereo environments. If the opp...

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my Sansa Clip+ with Rockbox firmware? (Yeah, kind of old-school... but I don't need to worry about any of the sort of crap you're bitching about...) Mm... I put Rockbox onto the original Sandisk Sansa e200 (the tall one) to enable larger microSD capaci...

I've seen a couple of their Prime listings saying "ships in 2-3 days" or something. But when it says "guaranteed delivery by so-and-so date", I don't remember missing that by more than a day... Maybe I've been lucky? Twice I've gotten a completely wrong item with "Fulfillmen...

I downloaded the update for my s5 from T-mobile maybe three weeks ago? And the battery drain is killing me. Sometimes it will be just fine, make it from 8 till 3 using 15-20% battery. Then it will use 25% battery before 3:30. No apps open, all recent apps closed. Even restarting the phone won't slo...

Re: AT&T Release Your Damn Updates Already!

Pardon my ignorance on some of the details surrounding the BS carrier update process (I'm aware of it, but can't sympathize with them).... But there is ZERO excuse for a carrier to delay an update for one of the most popular phones and Samsungs flagship set at that. The Samsung S5 should have had t...

Will 4 cores redeem Broadwell or should I just put all my hopes in Skylake? Skylake. As of now all we know is that Intel isn't planning on releasing normal desktop Broadwell CPUs with more then two cores. However Intel is suppose to release Broadwell-E CPUs later. To be honest Skylake probley won't...

Re: Any (TV) cord cutters out there?

I largely cut the cord about 5 years ago, ditching cable channels, and only keeping the below-Basic cable subscription that scored me basic network channels (ABC/CBS/NBC/WB...) because the $10/mo I paid for it with Comcast got me a $10/mo discount on the internet service. Then Comcast's inconsistent...

Re: Build Advice for console-killer HTPC

Just to throw an idea out there: I've been a fan of PicoPSUs for a while now. In my non-discrete-GPU builds they've been fantastic in saving space for large (passive) CPU heatsinks, BluRay drives etc. (Oh, and I always stick SSDs to the side of the case with Velcro... no need to 'waste' a drive slot...

Re: Computer won't boot with new RAM

According to the post below, your mobo only supports 4GB memory sticks: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2323880/truble-ram-h55m-e33-motherboard.html So, 2x8GB might not work. If you really need 16GB, maybe return your sticks, and get 4x4GB instead - i.e., two sets of these: http://www.newegg....

Once I added a hard drive in the case, and its initial power draw spike was too high for the PSU to supply; the computer wouldn't boot anymore. I find it kinda wierd when you open the box it makes the intel logo sound but doesn't include a power cord to the wall. One product for all markets. Means they can ship it globally with a 100-250V AC adapter and not have to worry about regional variants for different plug types in the box. It's a w...

Well, half the joy of home-brew speakers at least is that you can cheaply and easily replace the actual drivers! Sadly I know little about projectors these days. 720p is cheap as dirt, 1080p still commands a hefty pricetag. To me, 1080p under $1500 is pretty cheap. I went with the first sub-$1.5k 1...

If the product breaks during the warranty period (and the failure is one covered by the warranty), the manufacturer warranty will (gene...
