Re: Mr Legohead

That is a good point. I had considered EMI shielding but read quite a few forums saying you shouldn't worry too much unless you have problems. Plexiglass cases seem to have little trouble but it also seems to vary in different situations. I'm still in the 'see what issues come up' stage with this ca...

In case you don't want to head over to the OCAU forums here's a quick few pictures (more available in the OCAU thread) http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/9725/legobeginnings5.jpg http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/2905/mbtier7.jpg http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/321/legoscalp.jpg http://img689.im...

Re: Mr Legohead

yeah Madman I totally agree.

However, I couldn't find a decent filter in Australia at the time and I figured it's an easy add-on later and not crucial to the build.

I'll post a few pics here in a second.

Re: Mr Legohead

Ha! it may be the angle but its still better than the ones with the tongue sticking out or the weird lips and eyelashes.

I'll post a few pics here as I go then.

Mr Legohead

Hi guys, long time reader and very occasional poster but I just wanted to put up a link to my latest project. Its a Lego sorting head (found in most department store toy sections) that I've been modding into a small gaming PC for my sister. http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/870/legobeginnings2.jpg ...

Re: Can Anyone Recommend A Good Psu Tester?

Oh noes! I too just wanted a quick and easy way to test if a psu was causing problems without switching in another one. Every odd day I learn something new about troubleshooting hardware and software and every even day I learn that the local guys who do it for their living know even less. I guess if...

Re: Can Anyone Recommend A Good Psu Tester?

I was going to ask a similar question but went ahead and ordered an antec psu tester this arvo. If no-one else replies I'll post a brief review next weekend if that helps you.

Re: Steam price rant

Well I know in Australia that Steam's prices are pretty much in line with the retail stores (ie overpriced) because when steam was first making its way into the Australian market, the retail stores took the matter to the authorities claiming unfair competition. Even worse, the retailers somehow bloc...

Re: Phenom X4 925 OC

well thank god I included all those qualifiers :p and sorry, I misread your first comment about 71c as being the max the cpu got to rather than its safe limit. increasing your cpu/nb speed can help stabilize. also, if you're increasing your htt (fsb) double check HT link, ram speed etc as that could...

Re: Phenom X4 925 OC

Ouch! I'd back off on testing those OC's with the stock cooler. 62 is generally the max temp for AMD cpu's before damage. Personally I've never let my temps go above 54. Regarding getting a better air cooler, AMD cpu's love lower temps so it could very well help with stability but you won't know wit...

Re: Poor Graphic Performance In CoD: MW and MW2

There are a few different forums (toms hardware http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/274866-33-ingame-4870 and AMD game forums http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=279&threadid=123868 specifically) where people are reporting the same issues with MW2 and ATI gpus. From what I can gather,...

Re: Black Death picture association

People used to believe that disease spread through smell so it made logical sense at the time, its just that time proved them wrong. This belief continued during the time of "The Great Stink" of London when cholera was epidemic. The incorrect belief that cholera was caused by smell led Jos...
