Re: Dear US Cell Carriers... You Suck.

My Nexus 4 has already received Lollipop. Sell your S5 and get a Nexus 6. Thanks for proving my point. 8) I almost picked the Nexus 6 simply for the reason of getting fast updates. I went with a Galaxy note 4 (T-Mobile) upon hearing that 5.whatever is (supposedly) coming here in January from Samsun...

Re: Can you run VDSL Modem on ADSL Internet line ?

I think VDSL requires usage of fiber optics on certain nodes to obtain higher speeds. I seriously doubt VDSL will just work without modifications like I mentioned.

Re: Took the custom rom plunge for my S3...

I gave up on trying to hack my Verizon SIII and went to T-Mobile for a Note 4.

My goodness the Note 4 is pure sweetness even with Touchwhiz.

Re: Samsung LCD TV - LN46E550F6FXZA - Multiple Issues

I've fixed quite a few T.V's here lately and my suggestion is that the main video board (green one) is about fried, not the power board (brown one). I would replace it, you can find them on sometimes on Amazon or Ebay, such as...

Re: New Build - Help Identifying Bad Component

Don't use hibernation in Windows 7. Had the same problem and absolutely no issues, except it won't wake properly out of hibernation.

This is what I did to disable it.

Re: Earthquakes.

I'm not a dooms day cry wolf in a crowded theater type, so I've never sounded apocalyptic sirens...but in this case what is going on New Zealand has to be awfully sobering & beyond the norm when it comes to "just another series of earthquakes". There is something very, very strange wit...

Re: Wireless Adapter Choice

If you are looking for pure signal strength, try either Hawking or EnGenius stuff.

I bought this one...

For getting a strong signal in a bad spot, this thing is amazing.

Re: Yet Another Music Thread: Deep Cuts

Gretchen was down right magical...my favorite of theirs. Back in the day during that tour, me and a friend had tickets to see them. The day of the show I lost my wallet with my ticket inside :( He said that show was nothing like he had ever seen up to that point with a live band. But I got to see th...

Re: Linux Mint 13 Maya

Considering Ubuntu is trying to taken seriously as an alternate to Redhat and Mark Shuttleworth is pouring his own finances into the distro, I think he's in the right to shape up his distribution. Linux Mint is a toy people run on their 2 year old laptop to show that they are different. This is wha...

Re: SilenX fans - AVOID!

Same thing here. I bought a SilentX heatsink/fan and the fan seized up after about 2 months. Luckily my Phenom II 550 BE ran cool enough so it didn't fry before I noticed it.
