Re: really weird charging problem with my V20

Also a V20 user here. I wouldn't trust a generic walmart charger to work properly myself. My friend has had to replace his V20 charger four times (he forgets everything) as the first two cheap replacements had similar problems to what you're describing. Got the actual LG V20 Charger and it worked gr...

Re: Horrible Netflix playback on laptops

I've got an old Core 2 Duo ULV laptop at 1.4Ghz, 4GB ram, 180GB SSD. When it comes to streaming content it can lag quite a bit using Chrome, Opera, or Firefox. The fix? It's weird but when I run Netflix, youtube, etc. on Edge it all works fine - so that's what I do. Wired or wireless doesn't seem to...

Re: Should I upgrade?

It probably isn't worth it really to upgrade yet. I have a i7 920 OC'd in my father's system with a GTX 960 and he plays games at 1080p just fine. As people have said before you can add in USB3 and major changes are coming from AMD and Intel and I wouldn't drop any money down till we see those next ...

Note: Used to manage a Staples tech department (read - sold thousands of printers personally) Wifi models will not be much slower than hard wired models in printing. Well reading through these stories this is likely minor in comparison but... There have been a few interesting cases where I have had to recover data. 1. The case of the fire damaged hard drive. I don't know how it got put to the flame but thankfully a new a controller board for that revision of the...

Re: Windows 10 Upgrade 32% and 6%

I did an upgrade over an SSD raid array without issue (only 2x though, not 3 and they were Intel SSD's) I would send an email to Samsung and see if you can get any reply from them. Could also be a firmware issue with the SSD's if they are not all on the same revision. You can always send an email of...

If you do not plan on gaming at all then you have save some money with a lower end video card. Do you have any programs that you will be running for school or a future professional life? Re: New UX303UB and Cleaning Her Out

There will be some things that you might want to keep that a fresh wipe will remove, such as ASUS's program for driver and BIOS updates which is worth keeping. Another that will be worth keeping is the backup image program as well which allows you to create a USB key to re-install the OS. Also keep ...

Grabbing an A8 in that price bracket should suit your friend just fine. The screen will only be 1366 x 768 so I can't imagine older games being an issue at all at the resolution. Ensuring dual channel fast RAM will help the GPU performance substantially if you are able to determine that. In Canada t...

An AGP card from the time that came out would be something from the Geforce 4 series (recommend ti variants). The last Geforce cards to support AGP would be the 7 series. The Geforce series transitioned from AGP 4X to 8X with some variants of the 4 series. Any AGP 8X card will down clock to 4X and w...

Re: AMD A6-3670k failure... and no upgrade path??

I've seen cigarette smoke choke out a motherboard. It was so covered in tar that the system wouldn't start. Soaked the motherboard for a couple days in soapy water, let it dry for a week, plugged it back in and it worked fine. Probably will never see that again in my life but once is enough.

I'm sure you have done this, but since it isn't mentioned, make sure you get the latest drivers from Samsung before you update to Windows 8.1 . To update your drivers from Samsung your best bet will be to use their Software Update program. The other option is to determine which sound chip is in your...
