Re: Win 8.1 Backup/Restore w/ 2 SSD RAID 0 & 2 HD RAID 1

I think the issue is from not having the raid setup in the original system image I made. This is just my gaming rig so my primary concerns are performance and being able to restore in the event that one of the ssds die. Honestly having the raid 1 as a backup is overkill. Since raid 1 is just duplica...

Win 8.1 Backup/Restore w/ 2 SSD RAID 0 & 2 HD RAID 1

So I just built a new PC. With the black Friday and Cyber Monday deals I decided to build in some redundancy. So now I've got 2 Intel 730 480GB SSDs, and 2 WD Red 2 TB disks. Previously my system was just running off 1 Intel 730 SSD. My plan is to run the 730's in RAID 0 and the Red's in RAID 1. Tha...

Why buy expensive chipsets given Multi GPU jittering?

Hey guys, with the multi-GPU jittering problem why would anyone want to have two graphics cards? That being said, why would a gamer need more than 1 PCIx16 slot to get very good graphics? So would the same single GPU, proc, memory, etc setup run better or the same on a lowend or high end chipset? Sa...

AMD vs. Intel

With all of the new products coming out from AMD and Intel will we be seeing new compliers for each system? Will they try and take advatange of the new capabilities of each chipset? I.E. GPUs are inheriently suited for multi-threaded tasks. Some OS tasks might run faster on the APU then on the CPU i...

Re: AMD's poor strategy with AM3+?

I think AMD is going for bust with this integrated CPU/APU architecture. They can't afford to fail either. Intel's CPU benchmarks just blow AMD out of the water at the same price point. A few years ago there was a price reason to go with AMD, but that is no longer the case. If I was building a compu...

Re: CCNA to CCNP and beyond

Which one of these (CCIE switching and routing or CCIE security) is going to be more in demand in the future for those that are already in the field? This guy who's a financial regulator in his day job will always vote for security. Stringing Cat-5 and plotting switches is easy. Keeping out the bad...

Re: Critique my productivity build, pretty please?

I would recommend going with the WD Black 2TB instead of the Green if you plan on writing and reading from that drive often. I'm assuming you will since RAW files are huge. The green is meant for more of a back up drive. It won't last as long as a Black for heavy reading and writing.

Re: HALLELUIAH..After a months of research FINALLY my Sandy

ROFL .... :D ... K in all universal sense stands for thousand ..(Kilo.... right). Its not the currency, just a way of representing 8000 (8 thousand) and my currency (INR Indian Rupee) can be judged by my location, which is India. @techhead, I will post the prices for each component soon. I live in ...

Bathroom Sound System

Hey guys. I'm looking to create a new bathroom sound system for my small apartment. I like to listen to music or the news in the mornings while taking a shower. I've already got a desktop PC and wireless router. I've also got a driod x. My old bathroom sound system consisted of an old ipod and old a...

Re: Enter here for a chance to win a free Just Cause 2 license

My first PC build was in a computer class I took in high school back in '02. It was the first year the class was offered and we got whatever parts the school district had abandoned. I don't remember much but here is what I do remember: -Intel 486 with maybe 128mb -128 mb RAM I don't remember the vid...
