Re: New Server for Small Business

Have you considered migrating some things like email to hosted and just getting a NAS? Could time normally spent on messing with updates.

Re: Budget Web Hosting

If you are hosting only static content (use disqus for forums etc), google app engine is free up to a gig per month. I use it for my home page. It actually doesn't have to be static but I don't care to use their GAE api right now. Also appfog allows for 2gb of ram free per month. It supports node an...

Re: Creating objects dynamically in Python: possible?

You could pass in the number of workers to the Manager constructor and use a loop to create workers in an array.

Re: New case for Sandy Bridge

Wait for the 600T special edition with side fan mount. I was going to get that but found a phantom on sale at Fry's Intriguing. Any specs on that, other than the side-mounted fan? Not much difference besides the side door and the color. The main complaint on the case in reviews seems to be the gpu ...

Glad there is wide USA support for the Crysis 2 demo. (look at the filter servers count at the bottom left of the 2nd pic)

Re: Its nice when things work.

rock solid Heart touching :D Windows' improvement probably has a lot to do with system stability, but I'm still running XP. What reason is there to upgrade besides a little eye candy in the newest games? - UFI - Actual working 64-bit mode - No floppy needed for install (f6 screen) - UAC - Media cen...

Re: Sandybridge build

Has anyone tried a Sonata IV in person? My current yorktown build has a Sonata III and I love it except for the fact that my Evga 8800 GTS just barely fits with the power cable snug against the front fan. According to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIpeLTvynfY the ati 6970 is 11 inches and and is pr...

Re: Win one of three Asus Xonar sound cards

My setup is one of simplicity. A logitech z-540 5.1 set serves as my surround speakers however I rarely use them. The center channel has a handy headphone jack that automatically cuts out the speakers as I mainly use my plantronic analog headset. Headphones > 5.1 in my case. (with better speakers I ...

Re: Enter here for a chance to win a free Just Cause 2 license

I got my hands dirty performing upgrades on my first PC: a Pentium 90 16mb win 95 box. It served me well for a year or two, but I tossed in a Diamond Monster Voodoo 1 4MB when they dropped in price. The surgery wasn't too difficult after a tech support call to Diamond due to an outdated bios version...
