Re: Headphone upgrade advice

Sounds great. The most annoying part is not the sound, it's that the buletooth thing needs to be charged. Sure, wired sounds bit better, but when wireless is more functional (yard work, biking...) I can sacrifice 'better' for cableless. Remember... Amazon has a great return policy. A lot of good opt...

Re: Headphone upgrade advice

Another vote for the Audio Technica ATH-M50x, the detachable cable (straight or coiled) is very cool, but mainly due to the Bluetooth adapter purchase separately (Bluetooth Adapter-Amplifier BAL-M50X) or all together.

Reminds me of my old intermec 6651 (http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/reviews/intermec6651.htm). But that damn Windows CE OS was no fun at all.

Re: Dead R.A.T. New mouse!

just brew it!, that is the openoffice mouse or as it was sold, the WarMouse. I loved that thing, until it died. All them dang buttons, right.... (the RAT and the WarMouse) but those thumb buttons are not as easy to use as finger buttons. I may be crazy with my one thumb and 3-4 usable fingers but my...

Re: Too many movies from too few books *mini rant*

Hollywood goes through story phases. The different studios copy each others stories and have been doing so since the very first flicker. But, so too have theatrical productions, writers, musicians.... I agree with your point, don't blame the creator for the derivative work, blame the buying audience...

Re: What is a good beginning Mac?

Apple has been make their products increasingly un-upgradeable. So I advise people to shoot the moon and only by the top of the line and deck it out as much as you can. And apple has been relying on Intel Iris graphics, so for example, the laptop the top 15" MacBook Pro is the only laptop with ...

Re: Steam SUCKS!

It is a wonderful archive, if you can learn to play the game their way. I am not a huge steam fan but the platform does a few things I really like. Steam will allow you to play 'offline' https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3160-agcb-2555 -which is good. Another plus is the backup fea...

It is a pain to clean up if it spills but the ants swarm it for a week and die off. Eggs hatch and I get another swarm (not as big as the first) and another...

Re: Win 8 upgrade from Win 7

I was surprised how easy it was to I upgrade to 8 (from 7). After I installed classic shell and reclaimed my familiar workspace there were some programs that had problems with the upgrade (steam and office for two). After a month and a half I am glad I made a window 7 image before my upgrade. For an...

Re: Vinyl LPs... who still listens to (or buys) them?

I remember (re)playing records for day at a time as a kid. As a parent I am playing the vinyl with the help of me 4 year old. Those of you with may be cringing right now, and yes some get scratched but the good outweighs the bad. I destroyed 45s as a kid, playing and scratching and playing again, bu...

It was 1995 or 1996, the glory days of CPU's when you could pop in a AMD or Intel or hell even Cryix had a chip on the market that would work with the motherboard I had. But I am getting ahead of myself....
