Bad adapter?

Hey TR, My family has an old PC from 2005 that works fine for the most part, but a few months ago the network adapter started to go. Every time you started the computer you had to reset the adapter, and then it worked. About a month ago it gave up the ghost entirely and I ordered a new adapter from ...

Re: Game of Thrones TV series HBO

Maybe if this does well they'll try doing some other fantasy miniseries. I feel like it is the perfect format for a fantasy book adaptation (much better a 10 hour show than a 3 hour movie). Furthermore, I'd love to see a Wheel of Time series done as well as this one is being done.

Re: Build Opinions

Hey, if you're planning to over clock, go for the 955 BE. It's the same chip as the 965 except for the stock speed. That's a good mobo, but also take a look at the Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3. It's got similar specs for less.

Problem solved. I'm not sure why, but it's gotten much quieter since a few days ago.

Anetc 500w PSU sounds like a plane taking off

I recently built a new computer. As you can see from the title, the power supply fan sounds like an airplane when I'm gaming! Here is the build: ⋅ Phenom II X4 955 @3.72 ⋅ Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 ⋅ 4gb ram kit ⋅ 1tb Caviar Blue ⋅ EVGA GTS 450 It's in an...

Re: First Time Build, advice would be welcome

The step up from a 450 to a 5770 seemed would have put me over budget. My monitor is only 1600x900, so the 450 should do fine. I use Netflix for movies, so a Blue-ray drive seemed like something I wouldn't miss. Is the step up from a 450 to a 460 really worth the money for the games I mentioned? Emp...

First Time Build, advice would be welcome

Hello everyone, long time lurker, 2nd time poster here. I'm in High School and this is my first build, it's going to be a Christmas present for my family. I play some games, E:TW, Civ5, SC2, Lord of the Rings Online, none of them are that intensive so I think I've done well here. Any advice is welco...
