AM3 with AM3+

I have a mobo (Asus 870-G45 with AM3), and its running a Phenom II x6 Thuban 1055T, 125W AM3 CPU. I was looking at replacing the CPU with the AMD FX-8120, 125W AM3+ cpu and I couldn't find any info if that would be a compatible replacement. Anyone know if AM3+ can go into AM3 sockets and would this ...

Re: Nvidia Forum Attacked again

I'm pretty sure this is the second time that the forum has been busted into. I think some hackers out there dont like nvidia very much.

Nvidia Forum Attacked again

I just got this mail the other day, has anyone else got it? Dear NVIDIA Forum User, We suspended operations of the NVIDIA Forums last week in response to suspicious activity and immediately began an investigation. We apologize that our continuing investigation is taking this long. Know that we are w...

Re: New Laptop Suggestion

This MSI is a little less shipped with the 660m and only two memory slots, but they'll sell you the 128GB Crucial mSATA drive for $159, which you can't find in retail, and is otherwise very similar to the Clevo above. Well, except for the 'eye-catching' race-car trim. I don't want my laptop to be '...

Re: New Laptop Suggestion

I was looking for a 15.6" display so that i get a mix of good size and not too bulky. I will be casual gaming (steam arcade games, low GPU demand, GTX660 is a good card) and outputting through HDMI at 1920x1080. I really would like that resolution on the screen. I like the price of that Lenovo ...

Re: Cloning Software

I recommend R-Drive Image over Acronis. http://www.drive-image.com/ I have this installed on several machines at work - from Windows Server 2003 to Windows XP to Windows 7 - it works on all of them. It's minimal bloat, allows images to be saved over the network, allows specifying number of images t...

Cloning Software

Anyone have any suggestions on the best software to clone a harddrive. I want to clone my HDD to a SSD and dont want to bother with just reformatting. If their is a free kind that is best but if i gotta pay so be it. Thanks

New Laptop Suggestion

I was thinking of getting a new laptop, probably a good one (1000-1300 cnd) and I wanted some opinions on the best value ones out there. I was looking for something similar to this: http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GE60-0ND.html#/?div=Specification As long as it has a decent GPU and a 1920X1080 display...

Re: New build freezing

The mail lost my RAM which held up things so i just ended up buying new ram. The computer is working perfectly now, it must have been incompatible ram or bad ram. Thanks to everyone for helping with ideas and trouble shooting.

Re: New build freezing

I got back a new mobo of the same make from asus but the same problem exists. I am completely out of ideas at this point and i cant return all of the products its much to late. Re: New build freezing

Upon rigorous inspection I underclocked the CPU to 800 mhz and the computer preformed perfectly well through an hour of stress testing. When i reclocked to 3.2 ghz it crashed and froze immediately. I tried a 900W ps to replace the one i have and the same issue occured. I am really stuck, so i am thi...

Re: New build freezing

Try running it un-overclocked. Does that make a difference? It is not overclocked. I was thinking the same thing about the power supply. I will go get one to test. Its just hard because the ps came with the case and it was ordered online. Also i need one that has 2 6 pins for gpu power and one extr...

New build freezing

Hi I built a computer from scratch from newegg, and it freezes during start up or during normal running. I cant keep it on for more then a few minutes. I swapped out the CPU, video card, hard drive and motherboard for replacements but the same problem is still there. I also tested the RAM, downloade...

MSI 870 G45

Hi I made up a few computers using the MSI 870 G45 and I am not liking them the best. On one computer the ram speed is stated as 666 mhz ddr3 when it is 1333 mhz and other annoyances. Another computer will hag on boot up every other time it is turned on and it also mis-states the ram speed as 666 mh...
