Knockdowns were a key part of my strategy. I’d equip my own mechs with stability-enhancing gyros.

It feels as if some modifications to heat generation and accuracy happened by default. My MLaser-heavy builds went from 7/10 heat efficiency to 6/10 all on their own.

Silly season is always looming. We have 24-hour sports networks with air time to fill. Re: Car runs rough on idle

I haven't checked into the specifics of your model. I had an early-90s Honda that would get that way when the Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve would get jammed up with carbon buildup. I had a late-70s Toyota that would get that way whenever there were vacuum leaks.

Taylor Swift - Reputation This was a very disappointing album. I believe that it could have been musical with a few simple improvements: 1) Throw the cheesy flanged synth-bass into the dumpster. Hire a competent musician with a stringed electric bass. 2) Throw the cheesy synth-drums into the dumpste...

Re: upgrading a graphics card

If your 1050Ti card did come with a six pin external power connector, it would be there to provide a little extra headroom for overclocking. Looking at EVGA as one of the leading NVidia partners, only the two "FTW" models have an external 6-pin PCIe power connector. The other three GeForc...

Do you believe that the McLaren-Honda relationship can be mended? Through the 2020 season, IndyCar uses 2.2-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engines spinning at 12000 rpm. Re: upgrading a graphics card

To get faster than a GT 1030 you get up into the range of GPUs that require additional power via a dedicated cable from the power supply, one your system isn't likely to have. The relevant 4-pin Molex to 6-pin PCIe power adapters are very frequently included in the box with the graphics card, or yo...

Re: upgrading a graphics card

If your budget can stand $150 for a Radeon RX560 4GB or $175 for a GeForce GTX1050Ti 4GB, those cards are likely to provide a reasonably good gaming experience in all games at 1920x1080 resolution. While there are slightly less expensive graphics cards available that would be a noticeable upgrade fr...

I don't believe that the heatsink is going to be the limitation. Noctua indicates that it will cool a Threadripper just fine with a pair of NF-A9 PWM fans in a normal installation.

Re: Has anyone tried compact & air-cooled Threadripper yet?

What is the ΔT (outlet temperature minus inlet temperature) for your existing configuration when fully loaded? You should expect the ΔT to change by the ratio of power. If that's not too hot for you, things will likely be okay. If the increase in ΔT is a problem, you can upgrade your fans to increas...
