Re: Radeon rx 580 with multiple monitors what adapters do I need?

Assuming that your monitors are 1920x1200 or less at 60Hz or less, you will need one DisplayPort to DVI active adapter (single-link DVI). I've had good success with the Startech DP2DVIS. For a higher resolution monitor, you'll need dual-link DVI.

Re: Econo box with less gaming focus

Your friend made a good choice with the Radeon RX560 4GB. A lesser discrete GPU would be a poor value. Many modern CPUs do such a good job of caching things that they're not as sensitive to single-channel vs. dual-channel memory as was the case a decade ago. I don't know if that's the case for Ryzen...

The solution there is to mount the large monitor to an arm so that it floats above the desk, leaving the whole surface free for relatively-short stuff.

Do you live somewhere that FedEx can't find? Radeon RX Vega 56 and 64 have both been available from our favorite e-tailers for MSRP (or even a smidgen below) in the past couple of weeks. If there's not a similar deal running today, there's certain to be another one in the next two weeks.

Today's $400 for the Nixeus is a good deal. It's got IPS, 30-144 Hz FreeSync and 27" 1440p resolution.

If you're taking the long view, you might put the Vega56 in the HTPC with the idea that you'll eventually be able to bump it down to your other system.

The 1440P monitors that I linked above have very high refresh rates (120+ Hz) and they use IPS LCD panels. That makes them more expensive than monitors with lower refresh rates and inferior TN LCD panels.

Your coding looks fine, but "a number" describes a set that cannot be stored in an int. Shouldn't that be a float or a double?
