Bought a 7950 a few days before the reloaded bundle

I bought a 7950 just a few days ago, unfortunately after their original never settle bundle had expired. I thought I'd just plain missed out, and now I hear about this: http://techreport.com/news/24306/new-amd-bundle-includes-crysis-3-bioshock-infinite-tomb-raider Obviously I'm not thrilled that onl...

Re: Nvidia GTX 660 TI vs Radeon HD 7950

I'd actually been looking to pickup one of the two myself, and I'm interested in the asus variants with the directcu 2 cooler as it seems to be the quietest around. Would anyone have any idea whether there is a appreciable difference in the noise produced between the asus 660 ti and the asus 7950?

Adding a repeater to an airport extreme wireless network

I'm trying to boost the wireless signal strength to my desktop which is connected to a wireless-n network created by an apple airport extreme router. Due to reasons that aren't worth getting into I can't move either the router nor my desktop, and running a cable isn't an option either. So I figure a...

Re: Accessing users folder

Hmmm, I've looked everywhere under the properties after right clicking on the folder, best i can find is the local security and sharing tab, which just tells my to click and drag the folder to a shared folder, which I'm then not allowed to do(I get the exact same error message). Anyways, I'm pretty ...

Accessing users folder

My motherboard recently failed on me, and I was hoping to plug my hard drive into another computer so that I can back up some data that was in my win7 users folder. I've plugged the drive into another computer that runs XP and when I try to open the folder under my username in the users folder of my...

Re: screen flashes briefly then goes blank

Hey guys, I've been having a login issue so I haven't been able to get back to you guys. Anyways, my roommate has asked me not to swap out his powersupply because he doesn't want anything happening to his computer as he uses it for work, so I'm hoping I can figure it out without a full swap. Anyways...

Re: screen flashes briefly then goes blank

I only had time to swap out the two 6-pin pci-e cables with the two unused ones in my powersupply and that didn't help. tomorrow I'll try a full PS swap. I hope that's not the issue though, it's a pretty good PS (corsair tx750 v2) and it's only a couple of months old. I'll also try metering out the ...

screen flashes briefly then goes blank

Hey there guys, looking to soak up some of your wisdom again. So once again, I wake up this morning and my computer won't work. The issue was that the computer would not wake from sleep mode, and when I turned my screen off then back on again, it would stay blank for 8-10 seconds, flash my windows s...

No screen, won't boot

My computer worked fine this morning, but when I came back to my computer after leaving it for an hour or so I found I could not get it out of sleep mode. I powered my computer off but now I can't get it to boot back up again. My system fans come on and power lights on my case come up, but no signal...

Re: new hardware in an old hp pavillion

Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated. I'll definitely be going with the AMD Athlon II X2 250, I like the lower power draw a lot and it's 2/3 the price of the triple core. As far as the motherboard goes, I was thinking of the Gigabyte GA-880GM-D2H, price is right and I really like the hdmi ...

new hardware in an old hp pavillion

My dad has an old HP Pavillion, an a200n if that helps, thats a bit long in the tooth nowadays. I was thinking of offering to soup up his hardware a bit for him, I haven't picked anything specific, mainly I wanted to ask if I was likely to have any issues installing a new cpu, mobo and ram in the ex...
