Apparently Google is making a "mega-movie" of the totality. You can submit your pictures to be included, more info here.

Re: Goodbye Vega 56 at MSRP

Sure, miners have more money than gamers, in general; however, it seems like everyone "should" pay launch day as apparently launch day prices are not the real prices ... Holy crap! Now, to be clear, we haven't seen anything official from AMD on the pricing model mentioned in that article....

Re: What the heck is happening to my internet speeds?

So connecting your laptop to a proper router for WiFi it works just fine? It doesn't surprise me that connecting to a phone as a hotspot would result in sub-par speeds. I'd expect a dedicated mobile hotspot device to be better than a phone, but still nowhere near what an actual router would accompli...

Nvidia released a mining-optimized driver to compete with AMD Polaris. Why can't AMD make similar improvements?

Re: What the heck is happening to my internet speeds?

Have you checked to see what channel the router is broadcasting over and compare it to channel congestion using an app like WiFi Analyzer? Definitely best to check via wired connection (Ethernet) to make sure the problem is just the WiFi broadcast. Although mobile hotspots may not even offer a wired...

Re: ASRock Fatal1ty X299 Professional Gaming i9 LGA 2066 - good choice?

Yeah, I was wondering what made the OP select that specific board over any other X299 board. Granted these products are a little outside my comfort zone, but a mobo is a mobo. They're priced on features. So what feature does the Fatal1ty Po have that makes it worth the extra.... $130 compared to the...

Btw I honestly am immune and used to poo slinging on forums. It is the nature of the internet and i have a good sense of humor. Others however may take offense. In the future for the sake of site maybe pointing out pros/cons without the less constructive poo would benefit site more. 1) I'm assuming...

Yup. I wish I'd have stuck with it. Looks like 24MH/s GPUs will profit $50/month at current pricing. That'd be worth while.....if the value maintains.

Re: This 2017 ASRock board doesn't know its CPU's temperature

Yeah, this sounds like typical behavior for every AMD CPU I've ever owned. Load up as many temp monitoring apps as you can think of. Every one will give you a different reading of the CPU temp, plus 1 extra from the BIOS. The real fun is trying to decide which one you think is right! Or, are any of ...

Your Impressions of Curved Monitors

I'm in the market for a new monitor (if/when I get budgetary approval from the wife  ) in the 27" - 32" 1440p range. Haven't yet made up my mind for aspect ratio, I used my brother's 29" 21:9 monitor for a while and it felt good for gaming, but clumsy for desktop/office use. I h...

But the double width 1050 suggested wont clear the PSU - as the fan and stuff are on the side without clearance. The other slot - which came preloaded with a wireless card I don't want and removed - is on the wrong side of a video card to be of help. Hmm. If only someone could buy a USB Wifi adapte...

Re: Low profile single slot video card question

This one? The top slot is an open ended PCIe x4 slot. So you can put the GPU there. page 34 of the manual Looks like you could get a low-profile double slot GPU into something like that. The MSI GTX1050 would be a good starting point. It's not going to be a powerhouse, but I'm sure you weren't expe...

Skylake and Kaby Lake were compatible with both 100-series and 200-series chipsets. That's about as good of a run as you can expect with Intel. No surprise.

Ehhhhh. I wouldn't say that physical cores don't help. If that were the case, the i3-7350K (4.2GHz) would beat the i5-7500 (up to 3.8GHz single thread). Clearly that's not happening.

If you're really sensitive to that stuff, it's hard to beat an i7-7700K.
Keep in mind, your GPU will oftentimes have a much more profound effect on frame times than your CPU.

Undervolting/Underclocking related to your 1080Ti: Nvidia GPUs in the Pascal generation will automatically "overclock" themselves whenever possible depending on GPU temp. This means a 1080Ti will often exceed the published 1582MHz "boost clock". As with any CPU/GPU, the frequency...

We've got just a small 2.5' x 15' garden alongside our garage that I incorporated into the rock landscaping around the perimeter of our house. Then that's even more idiotic on their part. Ryzen 3 is a non-starter. Don't waste perfectly good chips and perfectly good profit margins. I'd HOPE that instead they're using the "small number of defective chips" they get from their incredible yields to fill the Ryzen 3 lineup. Not like Ry...
