Re: So who here is actually mining?

What event(s) do people see that will bring crypto crashing to the ground and why?
Even if you're bullish, it's always good to keep sight of the potential pitfalls.

Re: So who here is actually mining?

Seems more like it is maturing, and that's the problem. That's because the older, slow-to-adapt coins are the ones that are seeing the huge volume. There are actually other cryptos out there that have solutions to the scaling problem. Regardless, any ecosystem like this needs time to adjust, and th...

Re: So who here is actually mining?

Fine. The reason LTC is surging is because Charlie Lee appeared on a few TV shows in the past few days to talk about LTC. This brought publicity and understanding of LTC to a large number of "new" crypto investors who likely had no idea what LTC even was before then. We're talking about pe...

Any TR members who mined Litecoin a few years ago should REALLY look hard for their Litecoin wallets. Litecoin is at $360 right now.

Re: Upgrade or build?

Problem is my motherboard only has 2 DIMM slots Lesson learned at least. I don't recommend buying mobos with 2 DIMM slots simply because there always seems to come a point in a PCs life where whatever RAM you had in there to start with isn't enough anymore. Much easier to be able to add 2 more stic...

I think Glorious outlined how that BTC gets laundered pretty nicely. It was probably laundered before the news even broke.

Nicehash isn't an exchange. It's literally a mining pool (which probably doesn't mine much/any BTC). That's why the "hack"(embezzlement) had no effect on BTC.

Re: AIO Liquid Cooling Fans Question

I suppose that makes sense. It seems a common weakness I've noticed in multiple high static pressure fan reviews is that they tend to be a bit noisier (less air splashing back, so the fan has to work harder). The more air you try to push though a restricted channel the harder it is to get it all thr...

Re: AIO Liquid Cooling Fans Question

I actually haven't tried the stock H50 fan yet, it seemed to me that the stock H50 fan is not variable speed(?) The Enermax DF Pressure that I'm using does ramp up to the 1500rpm limiter under load (giving me about 70C on the CPU), which is supposedly rated for 2.7mmH2O. IIRC, the max speed might ha...

AIO Liquid Cooling Fans Question

Newegg had the Corsair H50 (quiet edition) for $25 after MIR, so I pulled the trigger on one. I was previously using a Xigmatek HDT 120mm tower cooler with a single push fan in my Silverstone PS07 (same as TJ08 but different front panel) and a 120mm fan exhaust out the back of the case. Because this...

In the past 4 years or so that I've religiously browsed newegg prices on black Friday and cyber Monday, black Friday has by far seen better pricing. Cyber Monday on newegg has always been a let down. (It is, after all, basically an Amazon.com "holiday").

So lemme get this straight. Sets allows you to group windows from various [MS] programs into one icon on your task bar? It seems the benefit of this is going to be very niche. I personally don't see myself ever needing this feature instead of the traditional model. Also, they'd better support the fe...

Re: OK I finally had with binge drinking soda.

I've been getting into cold-brew coffee lately (although I'm not a "coffee drinker", and I only like cold coffee). It's childishly easy to make in a french press (although I've moved to making it in a gallon glass growler and running it through a coffee filter which is a bit time consuming...
