Re: What SSD should I be looking at for this task?

I would personally go for the Samsung. The price isn't very different from most other SSDs and it outperforms most of them, while being very good quality.

Re: The most amazing movie scene in film history

I would say the most amazing movie scene I've seen was Spencer Tracy's final speech in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. I would say it ties with the final dance scene in the Bollywood movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi... both are truly epic moments that bring together the entire movie into a single moment of g...

Re: Small "gaming capable" Laptop (Trinity vs. GT540m)

Well, you have a couple different directions you could take on this, given what you mentioned your desires are. While the data isn't available yet, I would suspect the Trinity solution will be kinder on batteries. However, if you care considering Trinity, you are waiting till Ivy Bridge and Kepler s...

Re: Help in selecting a laptop

Not sure why she's wanting i7 processor. Only thing I've seen that really shows a difference between i5 and i7 is video encoding and a few other cpu intensive tasks. What kind of gaming is she wanting to do? You aren't going to get a gaming laptop for that price range... even a desktop, that would b...

On the graphics card, with that range, I think the GTX 560Ti might be better long run because more programs seem to be utilizing the '...

Re: What do you do with the extra power?

I would agree with StuG about turning down the overclocking... though not about underclocking it. Even in a stable computer, OC can create more stress on the parts and shorten their lifespan. You've got a fair amount of power and you don't really need the difference overclocking gives you. That said...

Re: Enter our MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti giveaway here

Thanks for the chance. It's good timing... I'm working on building a new computer right now... it would be nice to get a free graphics card.
Good luck everyone.
