Re: Best laptops for photo editing

Thank you for your responses. Obviously using a external monitor would be the best, maybe as an option in the future. I've checked the new Zenbook line and they seem to have very good displays at a fair price. The Dell XPS line (with 4K screens) is also very good but expensive. Searching a little de...

Best laptops for photo editing

Hi all,

Currently looking for a laptop specifically to future professional photo editing, Macbooks are the obvious choices for their superb factory calibrated displays, but they are expensive. I wanted to look for other options if possible.

Cheers

Re: BIOS not showing up my SSDs

I don't find any separate RAID page. I remember when I had the RAID setup some years ago on this same machine I had to press CRTL+I a little after boot to show up the RAID config tool. From what I read the fact that the menu for the Intel RAID tool isn't showing up after boot it's because the BIOS i...

Re: BIOS not showing up my SSDs

As just brew it says, I can't see them on the BIOS but they are both working fine under Win 10. So in case 2 happening as Chrispy_ mentions can I assume it would be easier just to wipe out all the drives, and if so, what is the easiest way to do this?

Thank you.

BIOS not showing up my SSDs

Hi all, Needed a bit of an advice about two situations I'm having on my PC, current specs on sig. So my 2 Corsair SSDs work normally under Windows 10 (one has the OS and the other is a Steam library) but I can't seem to find them on the BIOS. Since I wanted to go back to my old Raid-0 setup with bot...

Re: Fighting tendonitis

Bought a new mice for home. It helps.

Exercise seems to make the pain go away faster, which is good. Still trying to be off the computer so I can relax the wrist more.

Gotta buy a new mice for work to and a wrist rest. I just want not to get worse, don't want to have any complications on the future.

Re: New PC?

I like the 6 year warranty on the NZXT one. It's a bit pricey but it think it would fit nice in the case! So I decided to leave my components as they are for now, and focus in my peripherals. Keyboard http://www.corsair.com/pt-pt/gaming-keyboards/vengeance-gaming-keyboards?keyboardmodel=K70|&key...

Re: New PC?

Thanks for the responses. The fact is prices on components are quite high here in Portugal, and even if i could sell the current one for say 900$ it would still take me quite an amount to build up a new one. New PC?

Hi guys. I might have an option to sell my full system to a co-worker (on my sig). It could be an opportunity to make an upgrade. I know my system is still quite decent, but it could be a nice time to upgrade to the Freesync world, 2M resolutions and a updated graphics card with all goodies (AMD pre...

That's what you get for having fresh graduated students working for the first time coding games. Good job Ubisoft. Let's hope you don't mess up like this in Division.

Switch to a trackball? Not possible. High precision work. Had to look up what a photogrammetrist is. Weren't trackballs invented exactly for jobs like yours? And, as Wikipedia says, "Large trackballs are common on CAD workstations for easy precision". I use a mouse at work and a trackball...

Re: Fighting tendonitis

Don't know what it's like in the US but in the UK your employer is legally required to meet certain ergonomic standards - we'd ask for DSE desk assessment. The solution is to change it up; Most people opt for a pen-tablet. Vertical mice for others. If you want to use a mouse a home you should avoid...

Thank you for your suggestions. I'll start by trying new gear (mouse and wrist rest) and try to be more careful about posture, I know that it's very important. My girlfriend talked about yoga too, maybe its time to give it a try. Before I found those ergonomic solutions, I swapped to mousing with my...

Hi all. As the subject says, I would like recommendations from you to fight the strain on my mouse wrist, since I usually spend 10h of my day in a computer, both at home and at work. The most forward think I can think off is to don't use the computer at home, so I can have more rest hours per day. O...
