i solved my problem.
in fact my usb adapter is named as Atheros OTUS wireless network adapter instead of Netgear WNDA3100. so i didn't understand it was it !
and now it runs ! (cause i disabled promiscuous mode)

yes my user accound is administrator priviledge. and i also see ethernet connexion adapter (which is not wireless at all!)

hi, My aim is to test and verify my wlan is well secured and safe. so i'd like to use wireshark with my wnda3100 adapter (usb netgear). but once, wireshark is installed, it doesn't show my usb wireless adapter. Do you know why ? My Os windows xp is original sp3 updated, and my drivers are Ok : 3.0.0...

well, guess what...i'm back with pretty good news : 1 - Four hours after my last post, i burnt a ISO live CD of linux (kubuntu 11.04 x86, KDE because very look like Win7 for no-gnome user !) 2 - i boot on the live CD (my fail drive is out and switch of, and no link USB yet) 3 - once linux is full CD...

once the drive is switch on, it can spin (at computer boot it stay on, and have smart Ok in bios). first disk access under windows (while logo win7 animation) make it power down. once i unplug it, and replugit (to reload the windows usb detection) , then the disk can stay power on. some little secon...

in bios, smart diag seems Ok , at least recognized !

but once in windows, the disk is power off suddenly like to many power need make it down
