10 Gigabyte Ethernet

I maintain a Windows network with Windows server 2019 essentials and 24 users, 4 printers, 2 copiers, and some wireless access points. We run a server based application running on SQL that takes roughly 30 seconds to load up at the workstation, 20 seconds if you load it at the server. We attach to a...

Re: web cam

Went on site to check the bios and instead found that the Lenovo has a flap that covers the camera and turns it on.

Somethings you just can't see remotely.

thanks

wireless access for outer buildings

Hi, I’m trying to extend my WIFI to a metal trailer about 50 yards from my home network. Ideally the access points should be weather resistant. I’d also like to have WIFI access by the pool which is also about 50 yards away, but about 160 degrees in another direction. Would a mesh network be a possi...

Re: UPS for dual power supply

The UPS I was looking at, according the the manufacturers web site, gave me an estimated time of 19 minutes to run the server if there is a power outage. We quite often loose power for 15 to 30 minutes. I was thinking if I put the separate power supplies on two different UPSs that I could push the u...

UPS for dual power supply

I recently bought a server and want to add two UPS to it. it has a dual power supply rated at 550Watts (230/115V). If I have a separate UPS on both connections and have a power outage, will it drain UPSs at the same rate, or will the load be less because there are two of them?

I have a client with their domain (which is an .org) being used with Office 365 and they have 5 users with their emails defined. What they have found is that a number of people send in donations, they don't end it with .org, but .com. Is the solution, to purchase another domain with the same name, b...

Turned out it was not Outlook doing it. The SQL client Application that integrates with Outlook was the culprit.

Re: Outlook 2013 attachments are causing original to disappear

The copier is a Konica Minolta bizhub c654e. The scanner has all rights to the network share. The share consists of hundreds of separate folders and the scan can be directed to go to any of them. Generally, when they scan, it is to a specific folder that no one else is using. There is no document co...

Outlook 2013 attachments are causing original to disappear

I've got a user who is using outlook 2013. She is scanning in a document using a copier to the Windows 2012 server share. The document type is a pdf. She then goes back to her computer, creates a new email and attaches the scans and sends them. The problem is that erratically the original file on th...

Office 365 change an alias to an email account

I want to change an existing alias to a regular email account. Once I delete the Alias and then create the user, how long does it take for the email that was going to the alias to go to the newly created mailbox? During this transition, will any mail be lost if it is sent while making this change?

I am about to upgrade a company that has a Windows 2012 R2 essentials server. I am moving them to A Windows 2019 essentials. My question is regarding the computer name. I thought this was done, but discovered while the Windows 10 update seemed to fix the problem with the one copier, the other one still had problems. The printer people tried to blame it on the network, but after putting a switch and a workstation right next to the copier and unplugging from the rest...

Any way to roll back the 1809 on the computers that are past the 10 day window for roll back? Or do you know the patch you got that fixed 1809?

They are connected to the network. I have not connected to them directly (via usb). They both have 4 mg of ram and a 250 GB hard drive.

I would have to ask the copier people about adding more ram.

But until 3 weeks ago, this seemed adequate.
